It's a body rotisserie. We built a pair of them for blasting and painting a chevelle shell. Made them completely adjustable for Trans AM and Camaro that will be using them next.

nice im building the same setup right now. how many feet wide did you go on the base legs (i went 6ft. on mine) and what type of shaft did you use for rotating

the body is about 6.5 feet wide so i went 7 just to be a little wider then the car. The shaft is actually a section of a round fork truck fork that slides into a machined tube. All-in-all it turned out pretty good, hugely overkill but it will be nice for working on it. Between the 2 sides it proabably weigh's more then the body of the car.

sounds nice i thought about using the top tube off two engine stands for rotating but idk havent got that far yet.im also putting a chevelle on my rotisserie

Nice! Are those heavy duty wheel casters? Can't tell by the pics but I assuming you have some way to lock it? Did you make that from some engine hoists?

they cost anywhere from $1000-1500

They are expensive but so far we have the cost of welding rod into the project. The tube steel was structural steel from a building demolition. The castor wheels are from some old scaffolding and yes they are locking. The come-a-longs were just lying around. It was truly a use what you have project, and I think it turned out pretty good
