It's off a truck that sucks out clogged sewers. It's driven by a hydraulic motor. It pulls air up through the bottom and sends it out a five foot tall, two foot around muffler that bolts to the top of it.

why would they have one on a generator? Cooling?

2V diesels require a blower to function, many large volume air supplys use roots style blowers
