So my free 86 5/8 ton 4x4 (was so weak it didnt warrant the 3/4 ton logo) has gone from 318 lean burn to 318 4brl to 5.2 mpfi over the years. Running so good a body swap was in order so a 1991 tbi 2wd body when on, dana 60's frnt/rear with king pins and factory 3.54 limited slip rear. So I just married the 86 mpfi 5.2 ecm to the 91 tbi body (keeping cab in tact) using a 1997 harness and a 96 van power dist center (extra relays and 50amp fuses to ditch 91 fusable links).

Looks crazy there but I'll post nearly complete, very tidy setup shortly. And here is the new look prior to wheel spacers:

If you ever saw my old rusty red PU that was formerly blue before a roller paint job she looks new! Years ago the truck was truly run to the ground and free to me, broken springs and u-joints are all happy over the years.

Free truck that lasted long enough to go through 3 motors and a whole second body? Can't beat that. The beauty of something that "just works", gets lost among us car guys sometimes I think haha.

That's a hot rig! You got Chevy axles under it? I noticed the Chevy wheels on it, I have dodge wheels on my Chevy and with the dodge pilot hole being larger, getting mine on is a pain in the ass!

They were bolt on 93 Cummins 60's, 3.54, king pinned and limited slip rear. I added 2" wheel spacers since that pic so they look much better now. I did have to grind the centers of the rear wheels to clear the rear 60's axle flange.

Second custom exhaust about done tonight, the first one morphed into another, free shit and a BCM $50 Aerochamber sounds wicked!

In garage getting final wiring after test drive, will figure out how to post....of do a flybye!
It sounds GREAT! I hate "loud" exhausts, its deep and not too throuty, just right I think.

Hooker Aerochamber FTMFW. Looking forward to hearing this as it may be the push I need to pick up another one for the hoe.
