Washed it after I took this pic and peeled most of the paint off the front bumper cover.
I's a bit cosmetcally challenged, but the Mechanicals are good and I have all the maintenance
records for it.
Wonder what mods I can do??
Any Ideas??
Maybe an LS1 swap??

There was a car on ls1tech that was doing an ls WRX, don't know what happened tho, if it ever got done...not a lot of room under the hood.

Yeah, why drop the money on it? you will only have it for about a month any ways.

I was just teasing about the mods. I may improve handling and brakes but the drive train
will remain stock. And I will keep this for quite a while. We close on our new house Jan. 15th
and I really needed to get something more practical and economical. Hell this thing should run
for at least another 100k miles.

I will get another toy in a year or two..

I orderd Slotted rotors, pads, and a set of 06' TR calipers (4 pot front & 2 pot rear)
and a catback exhaust. Trying to locate some OEM BBS wheels at a decent price and
trying to decide what kind of shocks, struts and swaybars to get. Not going to lower it.
Also looking into skid plates so I can rally cross it once in a while..

LS1 swap was more of a joke than anything.
I actually would like to lift it an inch or so,
to go rally cross, or just find some dirt or
gravel roads to bomb around on. I was looking
at skid plates too. And I orederd a Catback for it
to give it a little more growl

Also dulled the back bumper with a green scrubby because it was so srcatched,
and wanted to see what it would look like... might do the whole car.

When I made that name I had an 06' WRX TR with a Cobb Access Port, Short shifter, Cobb swaybars, 3" Turbo back exhaust,
and some Hancook RS2 Autocross tires. It was a great car and I thought it would be in the stable for awhile. I also had my
Strim Sonic Blue 90' LX Hatch at the same time. Long story short my Wife was driving it and called me to say the trans was
making a weird noise in 3rd, I told here don't use 3rd. Took it to the Subaru dealer, 3rd was broke and they wouldn't warranty
it because it had been abused.... Told me Nadra must have tried to launch it in 3rd and it broke. I told them. " She couldn't
launch the car if she wanted to, what a bunch of B.S.

I paid to fix it and sold it. I regret doing that because we would probably still be driving it. We put 60k miles on that car in two
years and it had only been to the dealership for service twice.

Nice ride. These are really good, reliable cars. I would consider Plasti Dipping the whole car. I mean why not, your paint is already flaking. Good luck with it. And me, I'd throw coilovers on it. They ride SO good with coilovers and look hot slammed

plasti-dip ftw!!! ftr, if you are going to dip the entire car or large panels, you should get the gallon size and use a sprayer for it otherwise you are most likely going to end up with inconsistent layers.

Yeah plasti-dip is pretty cool.

I definately do something like that, I want a off-road roof rack too.

has anyone sprayed the plasti-dip on a larger scale like that? I've dipped tools, and tried the small spray version for emblems etc, but I always thought it would be cool to do a whole car/truck vs something like a wrap. What about the weight of it tho?

I haven't seen it personally but I've seen a lot of pictures online of guys that have done the whole car.

I've done rims, grills and attempted a hood/roof. Anything the size of a rim works great by the can but any larger you will need an electric spray gun. I have the recommended gun at my shop but havent had time to mess around with it.

Is that the 2.5 sohc or dohc? I know there a equal length header for the dohc that will give you 20 HP and its without a cat back. I was going to get it for my 99 LGT but I plan on a STI swap sometime in the future. Btw which BBS wheels are you talking about? Cuz none of the STI wheels will fit as they are all 5x114.3 but you probably know this.

The Jetta ones fit
