Can some one explain Display Port and DVI port to me?
At my office I have a Dell Precision M4600 w/docking station connected to two Dell 24" monitors via DVI.
I was looking at connecting a 32" 720p HDTV tv to run as a main monitor with a DVI to HDMI adaptor cable.
Unfortunatly it seems my video card cannot handle that and would only allow me to run the 32" is a low resolution and the second 24" would not work at all.
My docking station does have Display Port connections that if I understand (from the interwebs) correctly will allow me to run a better resolution on the 32" and allow me to still keep one of the 24's.
True? False? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy a true 30"+ computer monitor
