Guy wants to trade my Evo for this thing. Getting sick of the import scene...

From what he said it was a full body off resto.

I would take a good hard look at the way the rear driveshaft is done, that is a whole lot of torque in a stubby little package that could be running some crappy angles if it wasn't done right

I have a friend that would come with me for a 2nd opinion. It's been a few years since my off-road days.

How much is your EVO worth? While that is a bad AZZ truck, sadly they just arent worth much. I bought my 75 Trailduster, convertible, "restored", new rebuilt every piece 440, Sport, super rare truck and looked literally like a new truck when I bought it, came with like $20000 in receipts for around $6000. This thing with the diesel is maybe worth a bit more, but its not nearly as collectible a year and nowhere near stock so I dunno.

I don't see that truck being worth the $16,000+ That your evo is clearly worth. I would think if you could sell your Evo you could build a nicer or atleast more You truck for the same price.

Is it just the simplicty of the old 12V cummins thats desireable? Pretty much a lift pump and 12v to run the kill solenoid and glow plugs and go... Perhaps a 24v or newer 6.7 would be too much effort for the gains?

Real diesels don't have glow plugs.

more power an reliability with the ole p-pump 12 valve... many a 24 valve gets back converted to run the mechanical p-pump

I also concur... bad ass, but not worth much. Few people have use for it. Be it off road or can deal with the mpg and reliability.

Of course he wants to trade for your EVO, he would win in that deal.

If that was restored as in full functioning interior, etc, I'd trade your evo and 7G for that.

I like evo's but I always kinda considered them "time bomb" cars. They are cool when new, get hyped and overpriced, then disappear from the market since they've all been crashed or modded and ruined, or the rare handful that were actually taken care of are still in their owners hands.

I"m a truck guy, fullsize 2dr suv with cummins is up my alley.
