Anybody have any ideas for good pizza places in Milwaukee

I like pizza shuttle but they always raise prices, and going there late night isn't fun anymore, since for some reason it attracts a less favorable crowd than it used to. You shouldn't need security at a pizza place.

Transfer, Crisp, and Brick3 are all ok if you want a more gourmet topping pizza but damn are they expensive.

I'm a big fan of New York style pizza, so Leonardo's up in mequon (just west of port road, south of mequon road, tucked in across from Sendik's and the general strip mall there) is my personal fav. If you like a chicago style deep dish, Chuck's in theinsville and Edwardo's on mayfair and blue mound are both good for that (of course, there is an uno's in men falls too).

I do like Shuttle as Brew does, they're pretty good for both slices but better when you order fresh. Can be hit or miss and the atmosphere can be hit or miss...never felt unsafe, but sometimes the crowd later are just a bunch of obnoxious drunks.

Never been a big fan of thin, crispy crust, but if you like that, my personal fav is from Jimmy K's on the corner of 68th and edgerton (behind/connect to the south ridge athletic club) in Greenfield/Greendale.

I heard about it from the Clock Shadow Creamery website who also happens to have awesome fresh daily cheese curds that are squeaky as ever. It's right around the corner from the pizza place. It's the first urban cheese factory in milwaukee.

Definitely Pizzeria Scotty...kinda dumb name AMAZING Pizza. It used to be Rosatis Pizza. It's the same owner and almost identical menu. He just got out of from under the corporate BS, tweaked the recipe and actually made it BETTER.

Also NYPD New York Pizza Delivery.. Its in a weird area. 231 East North Avenue in Milwaukee. Brand new nice building amongst all the old beat up houses in the area. Dine in or carryout. And they DELIVER *EVERYWHERE* Its like a 5 dollar delivery charge but they will bring it all the way to West Allis. Hales Corners etc

Well coming From Buffalo, NY which is the epicenter of pizza and wings. Im excited to try some of your suggestions cause what Ive had so far is pretty bad compared. Anyway there is a Pizza joint on every frigin corner out there....Buffalo, NY is where Chicken wings started (Anchor Bar), but you guys have some great spots for Chicken Wings which shocked me. I highly recommend the Village Pub in shorewood for wings!!

Im not a fan of thin crust or pan its that sweet spot in the middle.. No pun intended : )

seconded, thirded, fourthed, and fifthed on Magoo's. Their tough guy wings are far and away my favorite dry wing...

On a side note, when I bought the Coronet in Maine, my buddy and I were driving back through buffalo, ny. Since he was helping me out (we drove out in the insight, and drove both back in tandem), I let him have the pick of every place we ate at. Figuring he's a food nut and that we were in the home of the original buffalo wing, he'd want to go to the anchor bar for the originals. Nope...dumbass wanted Famous Dave's BBQ [/facepalm]

DNT H8

Thats prob why the Current President stopped at Duffs when he went to Buffalo and not Anchor Bar lol...

So i tried a new place called jets pizza on 92nd and greenfield. Delivery area is huge and pizza is pretty decent. They delivered it all the way to me off of 51st and howard and it was good and hot. They will also deliver to work on 49th and lisbon. Wouldn't say they are the cheapest around though.
They have flavored crusts I tried the turbo crust which is garlic, butter, cheese crust, but lots of other choices. Best thing i can compare it to is hungry howies down south if anyone has ever had that.

A few weeks ago I had Chuck's in Thiensville again and loved every bite. However, this was the first time I picked up the pizza in person. So the wife and I tried out Times Square Pizzeria.

First off, it's an authentic NY style pizza....you can't look at it and think anything but.

The good: Good flavors, nice little pizzeria ambiance, friendly staff.

The bad: Though they're friendly, staff made a couple elementary errors that detracted a little, as well as being slow. One got the idea that they like hanging out more than serving pizza (which, to be honest is always true...but you never make the customer feel that it's true). The pizza came a tad overcooked.

It's a good pizza, and if there were no other places to get a NY style pizza, then I'd be more than happy going there to get one. But for the price and proximity, Lenny's still does it for me. If I was down in that area, I'd be more tempted to go to Philly Way, or even Gyro Palace...but for lunch, picking up a slice wouldn't be a bad thing.

That said, I'm absolutely going back to try a calzone...my favorite currently is Pizza Shuttle...it's absolutely terrific and quite messy AND filling.

Hungry Howies and Jets are both based in Michigan. As with Domino's, Little Caesars, and Happy's. They source many of their ingredients from the same place. A lot of it comes from Gordon Food Service (based in Grand Rapids, Michigan). Little Caesars and Domino's tend to source locally. I don't know if any of them still use Mama La Rosa dough (quite popular in mid-price restaurants as it comes pre-packaged in 3.5oz balls).

I think Jets tastes a lot like Toppers. However, Jet's 8 corner pizza (two smalls in one box) is way better than anything Toppers has.
