Mother is looking for a newer car. The lower the miles the better. She does not drive far maybe 6 to 8 thousand a year. Looking for a hatchback preferably stick but not a must. Open to all makes wants good mileage and i would guess under $15,000. Any suggestions on models or dealership people with input is appreciated.

A brand new Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, Kia Rio and Soul. all are right around 15k depending on what she wants for options it might hit 16k or so but all are brand new with full warranty.

Granted it's not a hatchback, But my vote is for a Toyota Corolla (2009-2012) They are good cars, the 2009 being the 1st year with the body style had a few hiccups but for 2010 they seem to be corrected. Pretty sound car's they run great. reliable and when driving nicely they will get 38+ MPG. Plus being a toyota when she decides to get rid of it the car will be worth money still. Or look into a Toyota Matrix as that shares alot of parts with the Corolla. A Yaris is a nice choice but it is pretty basic.

Versa, Focus, Fit...I wouldnt recommend the Fiesta hatch back because the visibility out the back is not as good as the sedan.
