I have never liked the look of turbo blankets. However I saw a picture of a DEI and was surprisingly intrigued by how they look...especially if you get the titanium wrap to go with it. So I decided to order one and it came in today. Sadly my turbo wont arrive til monday but ill post pictures of it on then :)

For anyone that has ever wanted a blanket or ran ugly heat shields and not liked how they look this is definitely for you. It is everything I was expecting it to be.. great look, excellent stitching, overall great quality. And after speaking with them for sizing I was also extra impressed with customer service. The one I wanted was $350...I said lets get her ordered and he said....our distributor Summit Racing has them as cheap as they can get.... order from them not us unless they say its backordered. Sure enough $70 cheaper for everything i ordered. Was awesome for him to mention that and direct me to save some $. Highly recommend if your looking for wrap/blankets.

BURN TEST

If you watch other burn tests they keep the flame on sections for a few seconds...clearly not the case in this vid.. they let it HAVE IT!

Said I would post pics when the turbo came in. Precision 6766 DBB with ported H cover and .85 Exhaust housing. I ordered it with a coated exh housing and a polished comp housing. Sadly It had neither done to it. Pulled it out of the box..introduced her to Mr. Blanket and shipped it back 15 minutes after receiving it. Big ass bummer

On a positive note the blanket is the perfect size.

I was looking at these a couple years ago when they came out but they didn't have a t4 blanket made yet, just t3. They are very nice.

So you got it through Summit then at the cheaper price? Sweet!

Yea they have t25/t28,t3,t4, and t6 now. As for pricing like I said the guy on the phone was awesome suggesting summit. Blanket was $304 from them and no lie $194 from summit .. I saved even more than I thought. I said what $70 before.. I actually saved almost 70 just with the price difference in 100ft of wrap and spark plug boots. 0.o

Thanks for the heads up, my blanket has lasted 3 years pretty well but it is coming to the time of replacement, and will only be one of these. By far the longest lasting blankets on the market.

who did you order the turbo through?

That blanket does look like a VERY nice piece actually!

how much reduction is heat do these give? I guess what I mean is; do these effectively shield stuff around the turbo, or do they only really keep heat IN the turbo....if that makes sense (it kinda sounds like I'm saying the same thing 2 different ways). Like will it help keep paint from bubbling, wires from melting etc?

It is a substantial thermal improvement. Also wrap your manifold (or coat it) and wrap your downpipe and use thermal fire sleeves on fluid or vacuum lines close to the heat, and use TechFlex products for protecting wiring.

I ordered the turbo through Sound Performance. Reid is soo busy over there he had a brain fart while placing my order. Hence missing the bling factor part of the order ;P

Br3w there is a huge improvement in heat around the turbo area. You could run no hood liner with this blanket right up against your paint and not see a single flaw.

This is a video just showing off how well some random ebay blanket traps the heat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PnCgjbG64s
