Picked up the soldering iron again and got back to trying to make lights that don't fail in a couple months :) experimenting with what works is kind of how i've been doing this. I rebuilt the dome light in the truck. Took 4 leds out from 16 to 12 and popped in a resister in each series of 3. Next i built a board for the licence plate light on the bike. Went over kill with these :) 18 led's for this and i know these will be way over kill. Still waiting on the 194 bulb base's to show up so i can make this plug and play. i've got picturesof the plate light finished but not lit. and the dome light done and lit. hopefully these will last longer then the last set ive made they seem just as bright but with the resister in line it should keep from over powering the leds. i'll shoot some pics of the plate light when i get the parts to finish her up.

I put LEDs in the dash of my truck along with some aluminum tape to add reflectivity to the inside of the gauge cluster. That shit is awesome. Fixed the oil pressure gauge on accident. Not only were like half the bulbs burned out or not working, but I've had these trucks with all brand new bulbs and the gauges were hard to read. Next LED project is tail lights to fix these shitty dim tail lights.

That looks nice, good work.

I did something similar to my dome light in my old car, put a buttload of bright ass white LED's on a breadboard with resistors. I wrapped the leads around the sides of the breadboard so it plugged in just like a normal light. It was bright as balls and it worked for years...I think I only lost one row of lights. Hahaha.

And here's a tip for when you're doing this; don't knock your fuel tank selector switch over to the tank that doesn't have any fuel in it. This will keep you from pulling your hair out and dicking around for an hour trying to figure out why your truck won't start...

i made the plate light plug and play ordered some 194 empty bulb bases and used a 5mm led for the leads worked out pretty good :) Altho i went to put it in the taillight housing and found it was too big :( So in ten minutes i rebuilt a new one with half the leds. forgot to snap a pic quick of the smaller board but i've got the lit pic in the bike and the big board finished lol.
