Since I'm stuck around the house recovering from surgery, I decided it was a good time to upgrade the desktop to keep me entertained. Normally the money would go into my truck or some new guns, but I have a gun build in process and can't work on the truck for a least a few more weeks.

Soooo here goes;
Starting with a leftover Antec ATX case I had from almost 8 yrs ago
CoolMax 750w 80+ cert SLI compatible PSU
ASRock Z77 Mobo, Fatal1ty edition w/ SATA 6, usb 3.0 and Fatal1ty mouseport, SLI/crossfire compatible
the NEW i7-3770 Ivy bridge cpu @ 3.9ghz in the new 22nm factor, 77w
Twin SATA 6 60gb SSD's in setup in raid\
MSI Twin-FRozr II GTX560TI Fermi (2gb Vram version)
8gb of Gskill ddr3 1600 ram.

This thing is quiet, RETARDED fast and makes all my previous gear seem like a joke. Eventually I'd like to upgrade to 16gb of ram, and run a second Twin-Frozr in SLI..but right now there really isn't a reason. This thing can play any game at full settings on a 40"+ display and doesn't blink an eye. Has handled anything I've thrown at it without a problem.
Just expressing my nerd today I guess. :)

They did, the heat issue was found out by some japanese dudes...its simply an issue with the thermal paste that came stock. I replaced mine with a different cooler and better (and a bit more) thermal paste. I'm not oc'd except on the gfx card, and I have 0 heat issues. Having ssd's helps keep the case temps down as well.

Looks great except for the cpu heatsink/fan. I use a cheap air unit, http://216.52.208.185/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065, and it cools substantially better then the stock unit and only costs $30. I think I'll go liquid on my next build though.

ya I hear you....we were running a larger cooler we had around, but the fan had some clearance issues with where the ram sits. Liquid would be fun but not really thinking that way until I would go SLI. Case temps are VERY low set up as is.

I have depth I can use to upgrade the sync, the problem is width of some of the fan setups. I hate ordering some of this stuff online, since "fit" is subjective to your overall setup.

MSI Twin-FRozrs are great you'll love them, I'm running Twin Frozrs III 570 in SLI atm.

Just need bit of wire management lol.
