I got up early this morning right before 6am, to finish pullin the head on
my girls PT cruiser. Gather up some tools walk out to the car and pop the
hatch. Then I walk to the drivers door open it and ZING!!! some Hornets
decided to start building a nest on the inside of the door, 3 Stings on
the top of my left hand; in the meaty part by the thumb. I thought great
my hand is going to swell up like some kind of clown hand, to my suprise
it didn't.

Spent the next 2 hours pulling the head. Boy the timing cover it a Bitch!!
Ended up breaking it into about 10 parts, guess It'll have exposed cam gears now.

I thought the car might have a burnt valve because she has no compression
in cylinders 1&2 and someone told me the have MLS Headgaskets and those done
blow. The Valves all look fine to me with my visual inspection, and the head seems
to be flat. Used a straight egde to check it. Going to drop the head of at the
Machine shop wed or thur and have it checked just to be safe.

Here is a pic of where the gasket blew.

Is it the non turbo? Those NA neon motors are known for head gaskets. And yes those timing covers and especially that bracket are a bitch to get out. GL.

PT cruisers don't have pistons. What looks on the outside like a engine block is actually one solid chunk of concrete.
