Where are some local junkyards that would have old trucks/cars? As in 1940s old.

You probably will not find any local business yards with anything close that old. My brother was at a private yard a few months ago with all kinds of old stuff. He will chime in. I'm thinking your best and possible only source for locating parts for that thing will be online. This is for the 'new' project I assume?

What about that junkyard in the East Troy area? I used to pass it on my way from Whitewater to I-43. I think it was private though and not sure if ever really "open".

But yes, for the new project. (:

That one off of 12/20? I"ve never seen anyone there, looking or otherwise. I used to go to school down there and would always see more stuff pile up, but never leave. I do think its private, but if you know what you want you may be able to make a deal for some stuff. Its prob some crazy old packrat.

I dont know if it is there any more, however Jack's Auto Ranch in Johnsons Creek had a lot of older vehicles last time I was there.

Are you willing to drive to Beloit, WI?

If I know there is a good chance they would have parts that I need, absolutely.

There is an old junkyard on the southwest side of Beloit. I can't exactly recall the name off hand but I do remember he had a ton of old stuff ranging from the 40's through the late 70's. It's the only one in the area that I am aware of.

NOTE: any vehicle from the 1940s in a junkyard anywhere near the rust belt is going to have lots of RUSTY parts

I'll try to figure out more info on that one. I'm sure I will be down at Blackhawk Raceway early this summer, so that's right in Beloit too. Thanks!

Luckily I just need, at this time anyways, parts that I wouldn't really have to worry about rust. Looking for interior, door handle kind of things. And the missing "tooth" in the grill.

What is the "new project"?

1947 Ford truck with a flathead V8. I'm calling it my big distraction because it's big. (:

What about the one in Fredonia on HWY A? Auto Parts and recycling I think... They used to have TONS of really old stuff. Don't know if its still there though since Kirchayn bought it.

All that old stuff was scrapped years ago, long gone.

sorry to jack the thread but are these yards where you can pick stuff yourself? everything around here seems to be like an auto parts store where they have every disassembled already

The place on 12/20 in East Troy/Elkhorn i believe is open some Saturdays. I also think there is a phone number on the gate, i'm about 15-20 min away if you want Michelle, i can run out that way and see about a phone number.

durham has pretty much scraped out all his old stuff and is rarely open anymore, the junk yard in east troy is only open on sat. from like 8-1230 guy sits in his truck by the entrance and yes hardly anything leaves and there is a ton of crap in there. Jacks auto ranch has a crap ton of old vehicles up there last time i was up there but the guy is a absolute prick
