Anyone know of a local place that can tint some taillights? I know I could do it myself, but looking for a factory finish.

I am pretty sure that was Crash Customs but he moved to Arizona. I wonder if maybe Jim at Authentic Auto sprays lens.

Andy, there is a guy on the Corral the will do them and they look badass. However he is not local. He's done a ton of other peoples lenses. You just ship them to him and he has a 2 or 3 day turnaround. Just another option.

Yeah, crash moved. I can call Jim, not sure I want to bother him with a small job.

With some time the vht doesn't look bad and has held up for years. but if i were to do it again i think i'll mix my own clear with a few drops of black and see what i can get out of a spray gun :)

That looks real good. I say just give it a shot yourself. It seems more and more people are doing it, and it usually comes out good. If anything just try it on a crap set, for a test run.

If you find somebody to do it, maybe we could all save some money and do it all at once. I have three vehicles I want to do it to. Otherwise I am going to have some clear mixed with some drops of black and do it myself.

This needs to be done with urethane and a catalyst, or it will have very little longevity. Boss, I likey small jobs....

I tint lights myself I use PPG base/clear so it will have the same finish and durability as the rest of your car.

What I have done is, you get any color you want in a spray can. Get the can warm so it atomize the droplets better. Put very thin coasts on tell you get the tint your looking for. Put 4 coats of clear on. That's it your done. If your looking for a flawless look. Wet sand with 1500 and buff. I have done this multiple times. The best is when you tint the same color as the car. I did a silver probe and it came out awesome.
