Willing to pay a reasonable fee or exchange for labor on whatever you may need. I have some rough hewn hardwood that I need to get planed down for a butcher block project I'm building I was hoping to tackle it with just my radial arm saw but I'm thinking I'm a lot better off doing it with the proper tools. I can bring the lumber, do what I need and be gone in probably 20 mins.

If you want to sell me a planer for <100, I'd entertain that too, but I don't forsee much need for one in my future.

Thanks, Carl

I have been halfass looking for a planer for awhile on CL. There are a lot of options but if you won't need it much I doubt it would be worth the hassle, and you can almost be guaranteed that the blades are dull.

That coupled with the fact that anything worth owning is $200+ has discouraged me. I also looked on CL for people offering the service, found one all the up in sheboygan falls. At 11 MPG, that is nearly the same price. LOL

I am with you man. I want one really badly after using one that belongs to a friend too. Pre-planed wood is so damn expensive. FWIW this one supposedly doesn't suck; http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100375976/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=planer&storeId=10051

I read about it on some woodworking forums but have no first hand experience.

How rough is it and what is it you are looking for? If it's guaranteed clean like no rocks, staples, or nails I could probably do it tonight in greenfield.

Lighting, what planer do you have? I am still kinda looking for one and always like to hear opinions.
