I want to hijack too. :goof

What's the safest thing to use on a TV screen to clean off dog slobber? I'd take Fantastic to it, but don't want to ruin the screen. It's a 61" Samsung DLP TV.

I didn't think to look there. It came with the house, but I imagine the owner's manual is in the pile of owner's guides and manuals for the other stuff left in the house.

Sometimes BCM is faster than Google. And more fun.

I bought that LCD/Plasma cleaner from bestbuy. So far its removed crayon, food, and anything else a 3 y/o can smear on a flat panel.

Also for the OP. I'm far from a guru but what you described kinda sounds like a video processor/main board issue.

Our Samsung 55" LED LCD (8000 series) occasionally doesn't turn on the backlight when you turn the tv on. We have to turn it off and back on again. Really pisses me off since its really not that old and the warranty is up.

Hmm my LED is like that as well. Does the light blink when it does this? It comes back on after a few seconds or however long it takes. It's irritating as fuck tho.

my Samsung DLP shuts off right when you turn it on, it will boot up then shut off. you gotta turn it on like 5 more times and it eventually stays on. you can hear a motor or some shit buzzing when it doesn't work. so who fixes teh tvs?

Didn't Dan's do this? Or someone? I believe it was a capacitor issue.

I just stick with the simple stuff :)

Could be the convergence IC for picture issues. Is it bowed or wavy? Model number?

Ok another jack. I have a Vizio that the wifey accidentally tried to plug an HDMI cable into the service port and it cooked something. I searched the web and found out that it is a fairly commen problem usually the mother board. Vizio won't stand behind their design flaw (ports are 3mm apart). Anybody here that can fix it?

A very good friend of mine was the lead tech at Flanners before they went out of business. He started his own tv repair service, Madelmeyer Repair. The phone # is (262)343-2022. I belive he is factory certified for most major brands.
