Got pulled over for no seat belt today......

Has anybody ever been pulled over for "not wearing" a seat belt? It was on but he didn't see it on. Is it even worth going to court or just pay it in spare change like I planned on. Thoughts? It was in brookfield.

how far away were you when you claim to have seen the defendant not wearing a seatbelt?

do you have a camera showing the defendant not wearing a seatbelt......no

do you have a photograpgh of the defendant not wearing a seatbelt..... no

do you have a corroborating witness who can identify the defendant was not wearing their seatbelt....no

what color was the defendants seat belt......

what color was the defendants shirt.....

is it possible you didn't see the defendants seatbelt against their shirt?

just try to fight it, 90% of the time they won't go to court on it, or the judge will just throw it out since it isn't worth the courts time.

i wouldn't waste my time IN the courtroom, i'd just talk to the DA and tell them you'll pay the fine if they switch it to a non-moving violation. has always worked for me(even the hwy100 ones way back in the day). the time to go to the courthouse once is a pain in the ass. the time to go a second time for a specific court date, is just a pain in the ass and not worth the $100 that the ticket may be for.

yeah it sucks you were wearing it and you have to still pay, but its just one of those things in this world that sucks and you have to decide just how much your time is worth.

I could be wrong, but I think a seatbelt ticket is $10.

Just depends on how your insurance company looks at it. They might let one no seat-belt slide, but more than one and you become a huge liability to them.

I thought a seatbelt was a non-moving violation, and thus did not report to insurance.
