Barterd for a Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4 that came with a new winch #2000, has low reduction 10 forward gears and limited slip front.

Looking at used blades online. 40, 42, 50 56" blade? Mid mount? Front mount?
Done plenty of truck plowing but never used a ATV, will be for my driveway and sidwalk.

If we get alot of snow or if it's heavy, the plows tend to ride up on top of the snow because the blade isn't heavy enoungh to keep the cutting edge on the ground. They work awesome for light fluffy snow, or small, short passes with the heavy stuff. I've also welded a 1" dowel straight up in the air in the middle of the plow and put weights from a weight bench on it to help keep the plow down. Hope this helps some!

That does help, saw a light but strong aluminum blade on C list and wonderd about it. The light would be cool for yard projects and storage but adding ballast makes sense for snow, thanks.

No Problem! I'll even let you test it out in my driveway and walks the entire next winter!

Stripped it down to frame and engine tonight, happily no junior tech's tried repairing anything! Installling new brakes that came with the atv. Even tho its a 1991 and I dont know ATVs that well this thing is built like a tank! The before and after pics will be notable ;)

I plow my fairly steep driveway up north with a 400 big bear. Works good, I wish it would raise a little higher sometimes and it will go up over because its too light once in awhile but plenty manageable

Any idea how wide your blade is Dave?

I plow my driveway with my 800 Renegade. Make sure the blade you buy is wider than the ATV, that includes when the blade is turned. Mine is a homemade setup for the frame and mount, I just bought the blade and built the rest.

Blade width makes sense, think I'm ready to look at them with all the input, thanks.

I think its 52" or so, Its under 60" for sure but it is just wider than my machine turned. I got it for like $50 on craigslist and the guy had no idea what it was for, when I checked it out, it had a cycle country tag just about to fall off and I knew I could buy the mount kit for a Cycle Country.

My buddy has a 2wd Big Bear 400 and he took a bare blade from a mower and made all the mounting stuff and push tubes out of scrap. It plows pretty good for being 2wd but snow cant be too deep, he has a small paved driveway with little pitch.
