1966 New Yorker two door hard top. Ivory with black leather. Rebuilt 440 4v and a 727 with a broken reverse band behind it. Needs some interior work, some paint work, and some trim replaced. Has replacements for all the missing and damaged trim on it in the trunk. Stock hub caps are in the trunk along with a metric shit ton of other parts; all NOS Mopar parts or new replacemnt items.

Cool!

That sucker looks HUGE. You could fit at least 3 people in the trunk!

Eighteen feet, give or take. (I had to measure it to make sure it will fit in my garage.) Prolly about the same size my town car was, and at least three feet shorter than my truck. While she would look classy slathered in black laquer, I'll keep her ivory. Can't wait to start rockin it!

Needs 24's and a lift. Possibly a paint job with skittles logos all over.

If you wanted to throw some headers on there (makes a big difference on those cars), I've got some B-body headers that work for C-bodies like that (I think, not positive). Likewise, could probably sell you a decent set of heads w/ hardened exhaust seats, 3 angle valve job, 2.14 (vs the 2.08's those likely are), along with open chambers...it'd bring your compression down a tad to around 8.5:1.

^^^ I don't want to get that ball started rolling. This is just gonna be a driver.Growing up, whatever car we had, our dad always got headers and dual exhaust if it didn't have it already...whether it was a two barrel 318, or a 4bbl 400 73 sebring station wagon. For him he claimed it was about fuel mileage...but given his stoplight drags activity/beach racing in those days, I doubt it. But what a difference it'd make...

Looks killer, although the door being the wrong color really bothers me. We should bag it, Nan will keep the heater running in the garage for us...

Yeah, that door paint not matching is irksome. Needs some paint work on the passenger side as well; I think a wet sand and or buff of the topside and respray of the sides will have this girl looking sassy once again. About a weekends worth of elbow grease and a tub of Duragloss should have the trim poppin. Interior needs some spit and polish and prolly some new foam. The leather is spectacular, I'm amazed it held up so well for 46 years.

As far as bagging it or hot rodding it; not gonna happen. Torsion bars and leaf springs take bags out of the question. This car is built for comfort, not speed; and any money that could be spent on speed parts I'd rather spend on parts to upgrade to disc brakes and a modern dual reservoir master cylinder.

I got a few personalized plate ideas in my head, but nothing set in stone. A set of black Cali plates and a Cali Chrysler dealer frame are on the top of the shopping list.

Said fuck it and when and drove it home today. The weather is breaking and dragging it home during the week would mean missing out on some overtime. Talking with someone knowledgeable on 727's it's doubtful that it needs a rebuild, prolly just needs a reverse band; and those can be replaced easily with the trans in the car and just dropping the pan. Thirty five mile drive home was nice. The car came with all new shoes, drums and hardware and it needs them, but I'm gonna look into a disc and dual reservoir master cylinder for safety and improved stopping power. I'm amazed now nice the leather is for being 46 years old. Can't wait for some warm weather to give this girl a bath!

I was gonna ask if it had power wing windows, but I just saw the crank. A buddy of mine had a '67 Imperial and the fucker had power winfg windows, I didn't even know they existed before that.

I explained the whole ordeal of power windows with hand crank vent windows to my girlfriend and she was flabbergasted. I don't think you could get power vent windows on a NY're; I think that was only available on the 300's and Imperials.

Been working on the car, and with most projects like this the more I do the more I find wrong. Two steps forward one step back. Motor mounts are all sagged out causing the oil filter to rub on the sway bar, thankfully they were only $6 a peice. Dipstick tube is broke off in the block. Found the rear wheel bearings to be shot, so shot in fact the left bearing failed and wiped out the axle housing. I'm gonna make a new end for the housing and put it on. Axle housing is unbolted laying on top of the springs with the center section removed. New bearings are on the axles, as soon as I'm done with the new end the housing I'll burn it on. Having the axle housing off I figured I'd slam some new springs in. I've been looking and I'm not happy with the prices I'm getting so I may just crank down the torsion bars and live the low life. Spent a few hours today working on some front end work on one side. Got the ball joint on, the upper control arm off (needs bushings and a ball joint,) new shock in, packed the wheel bearings, put the hub on, pulled the left hand thread studs to replace them with the righties i bought but they are wrong, so I gotta track the correct ones down. It's crazy how easy things come apart on this car. After breaking the nut loose on one of the u-bolts with a 1/2 inch breaker bar, i took it the rest of the way off with a 3/8ths ratchet; upper control arm eccentric bolts loosened up by and slid right out after a light tap with a hammer. IDK how much it costs to ship a car here from Cali, but I'm quickly becoming a believer in it's worth.
