I have one on hold at Holz until Monday.

2007
4.2 I6
LT
62,000 miles

They want $17,495.

all said and done I would be paying $12,941 with trade in ($1500) and $2600 down payment.

Sound like a decent price or should be keep looking? The wife really wants a trailblazer and it seems like there really aren't that many around.

Holz should knock a little off for the higher milage but given the tight used car market they'll get someone to pay.

heres one for $500 less and 24k less miles. Not sure of the difference between LT and LS Trailblazer.

I would but I would be disowned from both sides of the family. My family is GM and her family is dodge/chrysler lol

I would be willing to be disowned for 5 grand in savings and a better vehicle.

It's a shame I was unaware you were looking for one. My mother just traded in her 06 trailblazer lt 4x4. Had 73k miles, all options but nav. Dealer gave her 10k on trade in. We could have just sold it to you for that

I think the 4.2's are pretty decent engines

Korndogg
02-26-2012, 10:48 AM
LOL sorry Chris I was in a hurry when typing that. They seem like really good engines. Yeah that sucks too, we probably would have just bought it from you.

I forgot to mention that the $17495 is the price before the discount also. It's actually going for $15,995. And in the end I would be paying $12941. I don't think that's a terrible price? I'm just not too sure when it comes to pricing out vehicles, that's why I'm asking.

i got my 05 from holz with 24k on it for 15. this was in 07. i think thats a lil too high price for mileage.

Too many miles. I would pass on that one and drive to go get one with fewer miles

How much would you guys pay for one with this many miles?

Mark,

I've been looking for some similar vehicles and trading my STI.

How long has it been on the lot? if more than 50-60 days, then it should be giving more than just a $1500 discount. However, it may be that they are into it for too much money and can't take any less.

Does it have new tires? New brakes? I'd just ask to see the service slip for what was changed on it to meet Wisconsin Buyer's Guide safety requirements.

Is it certified? Don't think a 2007 GM can be certified at this point due to age, but I am not 100% sure

Here is one for 1600 less(asking to asking price) than what you are currently looking at, is a year newer, slightly higher mileage, but is certified.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=c&car_id=314558292&dealer_id=99772&car_year=2008&systime=&doors=&model=ENVOY&search_lang=en&start_year=2007&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&search_type=certified&distance=75&min_price=&rdm=1330278091117&drive=&marketZipError=false&advanced=&fuel=&keywords_display=&sownerid=66155193&lastBeginningStartYear=2007&end_year=2009&make3=&showZipError=y&make2=CHEV&certified=y&engine=&dma=MILWAUKEE&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&body_code=0&isFlashPlugin=true&transmission=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&color=&address=53213&sort_type=priceDESC&model2=TRAILBLZ&max_price=18000&make=GMC&seller_type=b&num_records=25&cardist=87&standard=false

I believe certified is for 5 years from date of inception. So if the 2007 IS certified, it will run out sometime this year of 2012. Where as even though the 2008 has higher mileage, you'd have coverage longer anyways, and it is cheaper.

Just all things to think about

Ok thanks. Yeah it's certified. Everything on it looked new (tires, etc) Maybe we'll take a ride down to IL this week. Or maybe tomorrow I'll just tell him I want some money off.

I take it nobody here works for Holz anymore?

There is one person who does, but isn't really someone who comes on this site quite alot. You could talk to Becky with the 1st gen camaro as she's friends with the guy (John Canter i believe his name is)

The wife is pretty stuck on silver/gray. She's being picky because she has always had to settle for something. Now that she can get something she wants, she wants to make sure its what she wants.

my trailblazer was ok at best had 100k on it with the I6 was the ext version piss slow and squishy brakes no matter what i tried, a common problem with these things mine was a 03. Only good thing was torquey and had 3.73's so it towed very well but the gas mileage SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS 19 at best

John Kanter, and he is a good guy. He's head of the reconditioning dept. I worked at Holz for 9+ years, now I'm a Boucher guy.

if you search, you can find better deals.

This is the dealership where my mother bought her 2009 GMC Canyon. She got a 2009 GMC Canyon crew cab with the Z71 package and the 5.3 V8, 35k miles for $19k. Fantastic truck at what I thought was a decent deal.

http://www.homanauto.com/used-inventory/1GNDT13S672286017

It's not an LT so it doesn't have leather but it has half the miles of the one you are looking at for a few less bucks. You could call em and see if they have the blue 2007 LT2 Trailblazer my mom traded in.

Everyone at that dealer was really nice too, extremely low pressure, friendly, no BS.

Korndogg
02-26-2012, 09:44 PM
Yeah. There's always a better deal somewhere. The point of this thread was to just make sure I wanlsnt getting ripped off by thousands or anything. Like I said earlier, she's pretty stuck on silver/grey. Were probably just going to see what they'll do for us tomorrow. I really didn't think $15,995 was that bad?

It's a decent deal imo...don't think it'll leave you with buyer's remorse given that the truck itself is in good shape.

I've always wondered why they didn't put this I6 in place of the 4.3 as the standard engine in their full-size pick ups. It's a great, smooth engine with decent power/torque. Upgrade it a bit, say like they recently did with the 3.6 v6 (redesigned heads, and add DI), I'm sure it'd be plenty competitive (perhaps more, given the greater torque it COULD produce w/ it's .5 liter advantage over the ford 3.7), and you wouldn't even need to offer the 4.8 anymore.

My friend has one and their an ok suv. His is a 08 and he already had a transfer case(under warranty), both front hub&bearings, fuel pressure reg, one coil pack and the fuel filler neck also under warranty. He only has about 65k now and every thing he has fixed are parts that should have lasted a lot longer. Which ever one you buy, make sure you look at the bottoms of all of the doors as well as the rear lift gate. More so the insides. Also check the area around the fuel fill area. They like to rust fast if people spill gas in that area.
The engines are good, decent HP for towing. They are made by Isuzu. Only complaint I've seen and heard about is when people don't change the oil on a reg basis the timing chains will get noisy or fail.

Before the restructuring, Isuzu was a subsidiary of gm. Isuzu designed the original duramax diesel engines. Plus google the Isuzu Hombre and tell me that's not an s10 with a different front clip.

i just redid all 4 rotors and pads on my 05 and it breaks like a champ. the gas mileage isn't the greatest but i don't buy trucks for mileage. it is somewhat sad that my heavy a$$ diesel gets better mileage then my tb.
