Well, this could be the biggest one since Hugo and Andrew. When they evacuate 2.5 million people, you know that there is some real trouble brewing.

Right now, the winds are gusting to 150. That will simply tear a house down in a second. And unlike a tornado, those winds don't give up after 30 seconds; more like hours.

Well my flight wasnt cancelled yet so hopefully it will pass within a few days and I can still enjoy my vaca. I am getting ready to go to the airport now. Hope and praying that Tampa wont get hit hard.

i just talked with some friends down in palm beach, their condo has a generator and the fridge is stocked with beer, so they are ready. everything is closed and boarded up, except for one local bar which is packed with people :alcoholic
i wouldn't want to stick around, but if you're going to, might as well party?

Not so bad here in tampa but the rain is coming down good. We are expecting 12" of rain within a day or so. Palm Beach and most of those areas are BAD!!! The winds are horrible and beaches are getting torn up something fierce.

I'd take the 4 or 5 hurricanes a year over 6-7 months of deep freeze any day. :goof
