What is the ETA for this setup hitting the streets?

I was going to guess either next week, or when the weather breaks. Could go either way.

What is the ETA for this setup hitting the streets?

It will be spring, just did a dakota digital cluster, made a gas tank and painted the floors, need to get new rear axles too
Kenny is doing some port work to the heads and had to get a new timing cover, He hopes to dyno it by the end of the month. Its going in the Black and Blue GN

going to be a 10 to 1 248 cid has 6 bolt main (factory 2 bolt) 14 bolt heads (factory 8) will be a dry sump oil feen no pick up in pan for oil
TA aluminum heads with custom shaft rockers
TA intake
TA headers
pte 6766 dbb turbo
160 pound injectors ( for the corn)
going to make a great street engine for the lady in my life

?Looks good but possibly quite a bit of overkill just to beat a 240?

What do you think is going to happen with E85? I want to go E85 this spring but I'm concerned about what's going on with it. Your take baws?

All this unobtainium just to beat up on some Mustangs and 240s? Shame on you. :rolf This setup should be bad ass and should be a fun all-arounder. I'm very curious to see how much more responsive this engine feels with a little more cubes and 10:1.

I still don't understand how he can say that is a dry sump? Dry sump by definition has well... a dry sump. It employs 2 pumps (at a minimum) 1+ to scavenge and one to feed the engine from the tank.

Its a beautiful oil pan, but looks like a baffled wet-sump pan to me (you can literally see the big baffled area for engine oil sitting in the pan - seemingly a "wet" sump) unless I am missing something.?!

Nice choice on the oil pan-
one of the things that can make you more power that most people don't think about.

no dry sump is completely devoid of oil, such a configuration would have cavitation issues. A dry sump is merely an indication that an external oil tank is utilized as the main oil collection point. Setups very widely, infact many motorcycles have a dry sump oil system wherein the oil tank is part of the engine case.

Heck of alot easier to change an oil pump hanging on the side of the motor while the engine is still in the chassis than dumping the oil, pulling the pan and so on, makes tuning the oil system possible as well which can yield better oiling efficiency and mo powah

So wait you're saying oil has to be in the oil pan? LOL, of course its not the literal meaning of "dry".

I guess I was just wondering how this is considered a dry sump? Per your definition there is no external oil tank - The tank is in this case is part of the oil pan. That's still considered a dry sump? I mean I could make the argument I have a dry sump because my pan has 2 areas in it, a baffled tank area and the rest of the pan.

Dry sump is a grey line I guess is your point. This is certainly a simple and relatively cost effective means of providing good/decent oil starve protection as well as reducing windage losses. For what Jim *cough*I mean his wife*cough* will do with the car I'm sure this is more than sufficient.

I guess when I think of dry sump I think of the more "standard" approach that's all. Multi-staged pumps, an external reservoir, and a small "dry" (not actually dry for those of you who expect horses to actually be inside your engine :rolf) oil pan.

Okay Jim set me straight when we talked at lunch.

Sounds like Kenny actually is marketing the setup as a dry/wet sump hybrid approach, which definitely makes sense to me. I do agree its actually a very creative way (and cost effective) to dramatically improve starvation problems, while also reducing windage losses without having to go all the way to a full on dry sump setup which would be far more expensive and way overkill . Not like Julie will be seeing much more than 1G of lateral acceleration anyways. Sounds like Jim is setting the car up as a nice street car/all-arounder and wants a nice improvement over the stock system which apparently is somewhat known for issues when pushed.

Sorry for the thread jack, carry on with the build thread. Can't wait to see more of everything as it comes together.
