I've yet to see one in person...a couple ones that have GNX features(GTA style wheels/fender vents) but thats it.

I do remember seeing the plate though 311GNX, online...maybe on Jax's website? Or another TR place. Seems familiar.

Whats the difference in a GNX to a grand national? Or are they the same car????

I dunno exactally. Some specs I belive are various aluminum body components to save weight, and more horsepower.

They only made 547 GNX's in 87' only, modified by ASC-McClaren off of GN's(sp). Kind of a last hurrah since they knew it was the last year, so they made a special edition...supposed to be 500 but ran over, probably since people wanted them enough...I don't know. They are all hardtops, GTA style mesh wheels, fender vents, a different rear suspension panhard bar(?) dealy and other stuff under the hood, bigger turbo and whatnot not to mention bading and a dash plaque that states the # of the specific unit....276 hp rated I reckon, but surely much more than that..I believe 86-87 *regular* TR's were underrated at 240 or so....

Surely some TR buff can tell you more in detail but thats the jist of it.

Needless to say not many are driven daily! ;)

That Rusty Wallace GN is kinda neat but I don't know the motive for some people doing that :o. I could never do it, but at least its fixable ;). Seen a few MCSS's done up like that online, mostly Earnhardt replicas(some Aerocoupes) done up very well, not backyard jobs.

Dumb question but did Rusty drive a Buick in the 80's? I hope so for that guys sake...
