A very close friend of mine that is a Police Officer was shot in the head yesterday while responding to a domestic that involved a gun. He was taking the woman to his car for safety when he was shot. He was shot in the neck and head, the bullet is lodged in his brain. His family is asking that people turn their porch lights on for the next 3 days in support and prayer as the next 3 days are the most critical.

Thank you to anyone willing to do this!!!

Sorry to hear about your friend man.. but that seems like a odd request. Prayers seem more suitable. He has mine.

They did this in Arizona when congresswoman Giffords was shot. That is where I believe they got the idea from.

Domestic Violence responses are among the largest reason why police officers are killed in the line of duty. Its a dam shame. Sorry to hear about your friend. Nobody deserves to be put in the position. He and his family are in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

My outside lights are on every night anyways, but I will think of this as I turn them on tonight.

Is it a show of support thing? Or is there an actual police safety reason for turning on the lights? I'm confused? (We leave our stoop light on anyway, otherwise you can't see the address)

Show of support. 2 more nights of support for the family, hopefully he pulls through sooner...
