As someone who used to "arbitrage" gift cards you should expect roughly 80% of your actual credit value. National chains like Best Buy might command 90%, but its easier for people to digest since they knock they'll be there in the next month or two.

So that should be a fair offer, or around there if you get any.

Zales has told me they will give me a full purchase credit.

Most stores will give you full value credit, however I think he is saying that people won't be willing to give more than 80% of that value for the credit.

I would entertain taking $2000-$2500

I know i will not get near to full price. Nor do i expect it. I had an offer for $1000, and it was turned down
