I'm just throwing this out there because you never know.

Bob Bode Racing picked up a new sponsor this weekend, and we're going from a part time team to doing the full 23 race NHRA schedule next year.

All of us on the crew have full time jobs at home, and might not be able to make all the races so we're talking about bringing people in as
backup crew. You would work side by side with one of our guys and learn how it needs to be done, then may get the chance to do the job on your own.

I'm going to tell you up front, it's a major commitment and you're not going to make a living at it.
There is a lot of travel involved and you must be reliable.
I've been with them for 7 years and have never missed a race, the same holds true for the rest of the guys.

What it boils down to is, you need to have a passion for it and be proud of what you do, otherwise it's not going to work.

Evereyone on the team is like family, so personality and attitude are important, we work hard but play hard also.
It's been the opportuninty of a lifetime for me, I don't regret a minute of it.

pm me if you have any questions or want to take it further

Here's the new sponsor, Stupid Fast Racing.
The race car is getting a full wrap for next season, it's going to look bitchin.

Share this album with anyone by sending them this public link:

Check out their gear, it's pretty badass looking stuff.

God damn. So want to quit my job and do something awesome like this. It's going to have to wait a few years until I have my loans paid off though :(

I should go into a little more detail.

You don't need to have any specific experience with anything on the race car, we'll teach you how things need to be done.
You do need to be focused and consistent, I can't stress that enough. This is a serious deal with a lot at stake, whatever you put your hands on is your
reponsibility and needs to be done right every time. Bode puts his safety in our hands and needs to trust that every one of us is on top of their game.

We all have specific jobs on the car, I do bottom end between rounds along with servicing rods and pistons and assembling our short blocks.
We also have a clutch specialist, right and left side of the engine, blower specialist and cylinder head specialist.
Every position comes with many other reposibilities, none less important than the next.
Not sure which spot you'd be covering, that's up to Bode.

Myself, our crew chief, and Bode typically leave on Wed evening to set up the pit area and catch up with our work on Thursday.
The rest of the guys show up on Thursday evening and need to be ready to go on Friday morning.
Brainerd Mn.(8 hours) is the furthest we'll drive, otherwise we fly.

If you can't pull off leaving town on Thursday it's not going to work, qualifying starts on Friday morning.
Most of us own our own business or have a deal with our employers ahead of time, or use up vacation time.

A typical day at the track starts at 8am and ends between 10pm and midnight.
You'll be busy the whole time trust me.
On Sunday evening we all go home after everything is loaded back into the rig.
What you see on tv is only a small part of what needs to be done, it's a lot of work.

I'm not trying to paint a pretty picture here, it's not easy.
We're not looking for tire kickers, or "I'd love to do that one time", you need to be all in.

I'd love to get into something like this, but I'm on-call every other weekend. BAH.
