Just picked up this 04 ram, thank you to those of you who gave me some contacts to get a hold of one, I just kind of stumbled into this one.

it's an 04, slt sport, infinity sound, pretty much everything but leather and tow mirrors.

Loving the power of the hemi and the 16mpg city.

Only real plans for it are to level it out, more then likely some nice 17" wheels, exhaust, cold air and superchips or diablo tuner, tint to match the rear glass

I was trying to stay away from black as I hate having the second job of keeping it clean but at least I have a reason to use my new buffer.

Welcome to the club. Same truck I have except mine is silver and an '05. Good luck getting 16mpg in the city though, you might get that on the highway if you drive 60mph. Gas mileage in these things sucks. Otherwise I have had ZERO complaints or problems with mine.

Nice truck. I have an 05 Hemi ram also. Just hit 32k miles. I must have the dud because I have had mine in the shop about 4 times this year, and several times since I bought it with only 15k miles on it last year. Most recently was a bad o2 sensor which made it run like crap. Have had a front wheel bearing replaced, a new rear axle seal, and a bunch of other small things. Shouldn't be having any problems with only 32k miles. Nice looking truck, did you get a 4x4? I only have 2wd with the same wheels you have, made for an interesting winter to say the least. If you want to sell those wheels, let me know.

Well going off of the gas thing (cant think of what its called atm) it matches up with my math I've only driven city. I don't drive it hard a trucks a truck not a race car LOL.
Any of you have some good exhaust suggestions I usually dislike flowmaster but from what I can tell from youtube, super 44 sound great

Also it is a 4x4 that'd why it needs to be leveled looks like a 2wd

I have the Borla SS cat back dual side exit. Sounds good without too much drone.
I had my rear axle seal replaced under mfg warranty at 80k miles (aftermarket warranty ran out at 75k). I just put in a new driver side wheel bearing about 10 months ago at around 88k miles. Truck currently has 90k on it (I rarely drive it). Other than those two things I haven't had any problems, and I've used it to plow my uphill drive in winter for the last 4 years.

Cool truck.

Wheel bearings are common in these things...fortunately, it's not the hardest thing to fix, though it is expensive. The replacement bearings do much better.

They must have had a bad run, because for a while, it wasn't uncommon to find the bearings on backorder.

I think I got mine for about $180. Not too bad. Worst part is getting the old stuff appart.

I think it was around 220-240 the last one I bought maybe 5 years ago....all the the local parts store didn't have it, and the closest autozone that had it in stock was 60 miles away down in IL. For us getting the old one off was basically 10 minutes of alternating hitting it with mallets, lol.

I just put on a flowmaster 40 series. Sounds good, but has some drone to it. Borla sounds awesome, plus all stainless. My dad had a corsa exhaust on his magnum, that was the nicest sounding exhaust ive heard for the hemi's so far, but its also $$$.

just throwing this out there for anyone who might be looking at a dodge truck

5 corners went above expectations for me. Not only did they have a very polite, pressure free salesman but when I took the truck out for a test drive, CEL came on, and the front end seemed a little off. I agreed to purchase the truck if these things were fixed, all it was was 02 sensor and then the steering rack/tie rod ends. Brought it in today and they did the following when al they had to do were those 2 things

-Oil/filter/fluid change
-New wipers
-The brake pedal was missing the rubber pad, so they installed a new one
- After I had brought the truck home I realized something was up with one of the switches because I could roll the windows down on the other 3 doors with the drive side switch, brought it up to the service advisor never even asked him to even look at it and they gave me all new switches.
- replaced the thermostat
Got right around 19mpg from cedarburg to west bend.

Looks nice! Drove my first Dodge truck last month. Liked the power and sound. He sends me pictures of impressive mpg numbers. Much better than what I get in my F-150.

Boy, your overhead display must be more fubar'd than mine. Those things on the rams are never right. I don't care what it shows. Unless you're driving 55-60 all the time downhill you're not getting a REAL 20 mpg in a pre '06 Ram. A lot of the '06+ guys with MDS don't get that.

Gas gauge seems to be agreeing with it. That was doin 60 on cruise down NN.

Like I said i drive easy so who knows, my buddy gets 15 all the time no matter how he beats it and that's going strictly off of math. His over head display is uusually 1-1.5 off at the most

15 is pretty average. These things are like a brick wall going down the highway though.

It's funny because you can be cruising on the hwy and reset the OHD and it'll read 18-20 mpg. But the first time you have to hit the brakes or stop and then accelerate again it drops through the floor. If it's strictly 100% highway at 65...sure. But even 70hwy/30cty or 80/20.... that 20-30% will kill it.
