Time to move on to other things. I have a project car in mind, and after getting my grandmothers car for free, I really don't have the room. So here is my listing copied directly off craigslist:
For sale is my 2001 BMW 540iA. 117k miles, 4.4 DOHC V8, 5 speed steptronic auto transmission. Black on black.
The car is equipped with:
Sport package - sport suspension (OEM option which lowers the car about 1.5" compared to non sport package cars), power 12 way sport seats, sport front and rear bumpers, shadowline trim (all exterior on the car is black), and the sport steering wheel with radio controls.
Cold weather package - engine block heater, heated seats, and headlight washers
Premium package - OEM DSP sound system with I believe 10 speakers, power everything, a power moonroof, rear seat climate controls, power tilt/telescoping wheel, Driver information center giving you a pretty advanced trip computer, fuel mpg, distance till empty, and many other features. The features on this car are unbelievable, especially considering it's 10 years old. It has every option but park distance control, navigation, and power sunshades.
Extra's - I replaced the OEM wheels for a set of 17" BMW M5 replica wheels. New Goodyear tires as of May 2011. The car also has 20% metalized window tint, tinted taillights, smoked sidemarker lights, and a very nice ipod docking station with full radio integration. You can control your ipod from the radio, look through playlists, artists, songs, and even have the song title and artist display on the factory radio. There will also be an extra set of alloy wheels with snow tires included with the car.
Recent maintenance - I have recently done all spark plugs. I replaced them with a set of NGK Laser-platinum spark plugs, which are of higher quality than the OEM Bosch spark plugs. Also done recently was a coolant and brake fluid flush and a transmission filter/fluid. The fluid changes were done by BMW specialist Milwaukee Motor Werks in Waukesha. Also this summer, all new brake pads and rotors were installed.
This car drives very nice. It's smooth, quiet, comfortable, and very well equipped. I love driving this car everywhere, but it's time for me to move on to something else. Come take a look at this car, you won't be disappointed. This body style BMW is fantastic. I have the original window sticker when the car was new... This car was originally $58,000 in 2001. I'm putting it for sale at $9,000 or best offer. I'm open to negotiate. I am also willing to entertain offers for trades, whether they be whole or partial plus cash. I'd be interested in other cars, pick up trucks, SUV's, 4wheelers, or motorcycles. Shoot me an offer, I'd definitely consider it.
If you'd like to take a look, give me a call (414) 559-6460
CLIFF NOTES: Craigslist price is $9,000 obo, I will do a BCM price of $8,500 obo. 117k miles. Runs great. Recently $1,000 in maintenance, plus upgraded to the M5 replica wheels along with window tint, tinted tails, smoked sidemarkers, and a very nice ipod integration kit.
Before it is asked, yes this car used to be Johnny 2k's. He can tell you how nice this car is as well. Since I bought it from him, I did about $1,000 in maintenance, two detailing treatments by Yoosof, the wheels, the tails, window tint, and about $450 on the ipod kit. The ipod kit has a very nice illuminated docking station in the center console, and you can control your ipod through the factory radio and with the steering wheel controls.
