John Gay, 43, appeared in court for a hearing Tuesday afternoon. A court commissioner decided there's enough evidence to hold Gay even though charges have not yet been filed.

ya I mean thats a lot of weed...but in the article they act like this guy was the biggest supplier in WI. I don't doubt he put in serious work, but I highly doubt the consumer market will/would even see an effect. Thats the issue with the drug war, there is ALWAYS someone else. Everytime you bust 1, there is probably 5 even bigger. I think the surprising thing was that it was a full grow op, not just a dealer. They list a large number of outdoor plants; usually not something common in our climate.

A full blown weed operation is crazy for WI imo. Very unorthodox, probably why they got caught. But Mr. Gay didn't have star power, thats all you need.

Its never been legal, simply decriminalized. Its also still very illegal to grow (for sale, growing for "educational use" is legal, don't ask me to explain that), and transport pot there. There is about a 90% chance that where he was isn't in amsterdam, instead the tend to use standard industrial buildings in less "targeted" areas of the country. The man who speaks at the VERY end, is named Arjan. You never see him in the video but he's extremely well known on both sides of the ocean. I can recognize his voice almost anywhere, but I met him about 4 years ago. He is the owner of Greenhouse Seed Co, and the chain of GreenHouse Coffee shops. It also helps that there is a picture of him and Luda above the counter at his main shop.

Well they don't give a PhD in pot yet so, my kingdom for a horse I guess. Growing up, it was always easier for me to avoid trouble (both legally and medically) if I knew WHAT i was putting in my body. I had too many friends who got hooked on things like H and scrips, because they really didn't know what they were getting into...and a couple of them are dead because of it. I guess because it was so taboo it drew my fascination, and I ended up becoming a recreational chemical rolodex. Even stuff I've never tried (the rare stuff, DMT, Datura etc) makes me want to know just a little about it. I'm pretty knowledgeable, but Joe Rogan...that motherfucker knows a LOT.


I've also been lucky enough to travel to places in which I can have access to such things, without legal reprocussions (sp?) Smoking a joint while talking to a cop is....interesting.
