So in the winter the tool box I have in the work van alway is frezzing for the better part of the day and I am trying to think of a way that I could heat it up so I don't have frosty tools. It is a large 5 drawer stainless box 41" wide. Soes anyone know if a company makes a box cozy or something similair?

Someone had the idea of getting these http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/external-self-adhesive-heating-pad.html and putting them on the drawers.

I think that would get to hot.

What about a cheep ceramic resistor heater? You can get one at HF that plugs into the cig lighter. I would take the bottom drawer out and mount it to the back panel behind the drawer, then it will blow up and heat up the whole box.

Or cut a hole in the box and duct one of the van's heater vents into the box with some dryer hose or something?

I saw someone build a mini radiant heat system with a hot-pot for a boiler. probably a giant hazard in a moving vehicle, but would have a cool factor.

I would take a DC converter hook it up to a strand of Heat Tape used by Plumbers and see how that works....

rig up a bunch of incandescent lightbulbs in your toolbox. The majority of the energy they use becomes heat anyway.

Otherwise, go to McMaster-Carr and type "heating." There is a variety of heating pads and other items which could easily fit in your toolbox.
