New Squad Cars to watch out for

So For those that don't already know, the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is no longer in production. Of course that means that all the departments will have to be buying other cars. So here is what to look out for in traffic. Basically it will be either the Dodge Charger, Chevy Impala or new Aussie built Chevy Caprice. And of course the SSV Tahoes. Ford has the new Taurus and Explorer based Police Interceptors.

I came into work today and for the first time since the mid 90's Milwaukee PD has Chevy badged Squad cars in the garage for testing. They also have a few Chargers on the streets in testing. I assume the new Fords are still coming. Not sure what they will settle on.

I know the pics are crappy but it was inside the parking structure with just my cell phone.

Its just so weird to see an MPD squad that isnt a Crown Vic.

Body decal kits? That is a good question. I'm sure they have a body shop though that does all the paint/repairs, which is inhouse so its probably cheaper than ordering new doors.

Well Ford with the Crown Vics had a body shop at the factory and it was set to paint the cars whatever weird combination of colors you wanted. If you wanted a Taxi Yellow Vic with Dark Blue doors it could be done as long as it was a fleet order. No replacing doors or anything too crazy. I would assume GM is a similar setup but not positive.

The Milwaukee caprice ppv 's were shipped solid black. I think the crown Vic's come black and white.

waukesha sheriffs have a blue caprice u/c. Hideously ugly and super cheesy interior. The G8 is officially dead IMO.

I believe it is painted. I remember a while ago a friend of mine said that Maco did the paint jobs on all the squad cars. Maco probably did these ones too.

Maaco is still around? Wow! I used to read their BBB complaints for kicks! That place was terrible, like fast food.. but with paint. If they use Maaco, shame on them...

I know that place, I used to work at the casino for two years, drove by it a lot. I believe that's one of their repair/paint facilities. I think Bry (sidewayzbimmer) used to transport police cars from there to get repaired.

That's the city's main garage. The folded up shit is there to be decommissioned, for lack of a better word, then sent to auction. The other vehicles are there for repair or also to be readied to go to auction.

After hearing that the Caprices came in all Black. They should have left the B and mini C pillar parts of the doors black. That car would look so much better just with those two small pieces left alone. The white up there looks way too out of place.

When Flynn first changed the paint scheme on the squads. They had just ordered like 60 all white Crown Vics. He sent those to Maaco to have the Black added. He also sent every surplus Unmarked car to Maaco and had them painted Black and white. He wanted them to be much more visible instead of running around in unmarked cars all the time. The Crown vics after that point came in from factory Black and White.
