That is a beauty....one of the few new cars that will get me too oogle over and turn heads :D. Definate improvement on the body styling with slight changes.

Anyone know how the sales numbers are on the 04' GTO's? Im really curious...hopefully they sold well!

If I am not mistaken, most dealerships got stuck with the GTOs and couldnt get rid of enough of them. Thats just what I heard though. Almost every Pontiac dealership I ahve seen has at least 2 on their lot.

Thats called the Ram Air 6 ... its a concept

The production car for 2005 will have hood scoops and an LS2. Few other options. The sales acctually are not that bad, they picked up big in July and alot more in August.

Dealers try to mark it up too much and the december release didnt help. I know 2 people in Milwaukee that bought GTO's in the last week.

Anywho... that concept is awesome. 355 wide tires in the back

It is :rock .The 05 also gets the LS-2,exhaust will be dual exhaust with pipes out each side of the bumper,unlike this year where they come out the same side,18 in wheels,bigger brakes.
The front and rear facial's that were on the GTO in The Last RIde i was told they will be dealer installed options.

Anybody know when the 05s will be on dealer's lots? With the LS2 in the 05 it might be hard for them to sell the leftover 04s. I heard not long ago that Pontiac had a 265 day supply of 04s. That is a lot at this time of year when new models are coming out.

The fwd is a very forgiving car to drive. I do not think my sisters and brother should ever drive anything but fwd. Putting any of them in a rwd car is like pouring gas on a fire; it's a bad combo. I have no reason to try to get my mom to drive my mustang or a rwd pickup in the snow. fwd is much better for her as well as the other non-performance-minded (majority) people out there.

fwd is more economical because of the fewer moving parts as well as the rotational mass of the parts. fwd also eliminates the "tunnel" down the center of the car and increases interior space. FWD has its advantages.

Also, try to think of what a rwd 140 hp car would compare to a 140 hp rwd car. In other words, my econo-semi-sporty integra, with its fwd, will easily outrun a 140 hp car, similar in weight with a front-engined rwd car.

But once you get above a certain hp, it is time for rwd or awd.

How do you figure this? Same weight/power/power band lets say for arguments sake and axle ratios...

FWD is ok for a compact daily throw away car, sure. But people did just fine with RWD for many many years before FWD came along....FWD helps CAFE mileage ratings along the lines of what you said, less moving parts and most importantly, cheaper to make.

If your family members learned on RWD they would be fine...its all what you are used to. I first started driving with FWD but do not like it in the snow, I got accustomed to RWD. FWD may be more forgiving for people who do not know how to brake/accelerate slowly in slippery weather, but in RWD you can correct slippage much easier. Having your drive wheels as the wheels that do most of the braking as well as turning is just kinda lame.

RWD is how cars were intended to be :). You don't see Mercedes or BMW lowering themselves to do FWD crap. :Hump

My 98' Monte Carlo Z34 i had with a 3800... That fvking car!!

Its was decently quick, but i hated driving it in winter!! that thing got more side ways than RWD and was completley un predictable and un savable in the snow in most cases. You could never be quick enough to save it from doing a 180 in the middle of the road, i usually disconnecte the ABS when there was snow on the road (didnt like rolling through intersections) i dont know what it is about that w body platform in the snow, it acts like rwd but w/o the controlability. I HATE FWD, rant off.

BTW they are tryingto hard to make this car something it used to be and well... it aint working, the exhaust is very very purple :puke
