My girlfriend is looking for a car. Her auto loan is for $5k.

Must be automatic
Looking for a car or small SUV. AWD would be nice.

She's looking at Jeeps, Subarus, Ions, G6's, Rav4's, etc. She's not picky but she knows what she wants.

Shoot me a message!

Not an SUV, but if you're interested in cross-shopping, my father-in-law is selling his very well cared for pontiact bonneville that's in terrific shape.

Buy my town car. Hauls more people and stuff than most small SUV's!

Jeep Grand Cherokee, inline 6, 4x4.

The v8 versions get 20-24 on the hwy and 17-18 in town. Averages 17.3-17.4 mpg. Not bad for a midsize suv, awd, w/ a v8. Oh the heated mirrors and heated leather seats don't suck in the winter either.

Huh? The V8's get better mileage than the I6's do?

Thanks to all who responded. I sent her all the links.

She just called and told me she bought a 2005 Mazda Tribute with 80k miles for $5k. Seems like a pretty decent deal, and she's happy with it.

I honestly couldn't tell you what the I6 gets from personal experience.

Sounds like she got a good deal!

The numbers you posted sound like optimistic I6 numbers. I don't have any experience with the Jeep V8 though.

Her dad is good friends with a guy who owns a dealership. He's giving it to her at about what he took it in for, I guess it's like $5,500. I wish it was AWD, but it should still be alright in the snow, and the 4 banger is supposed to get mid 20's for mileage.
