Saw/Heard you goin down east avenue Friday around 8pm once going north and then going south when you got the cherries and berries on my parents street.

Used a move that I've been using since I was 18.

Cop - Do you know why I pulled you over?
Me - Because I was being stupid.

Checked my passengers ID and mine, went back to his car came back and said and I quote

"You know why I pulled you over, I know why I pulled you over. Have a nice day."

Thing is we both knew if I wanted to I could have fled the scene. He was stuck behind a car and I could have totally bailed on the guy. But I was pulled over and waiting to take my medicine before he even got a chance to chase.

So the fact that I didn't jerk him around and that I haven't had a ticket since 2008 (I think) helped considerably. He might have even been a car enthusiast.

I'm not going to post exact details to avoid incriminating myself, but suffice to say I was very lucky the cop was cool. It would have never happened if it wasn't for that construction going on. I forgot about it and turned around and then when I went back down the street he watched\heard a quick pull from behind me.

^ The pulling over when you know they're coming for your ass method IMO always works. Unless you've done something uberly stupid.

A lot of departments (at least in the Milwaukee area) are starting to enact no pursuit policies, whereas, unless the crime they are stopping you for is potentially a felony and you decide to mat the gas pedal instead, they generally can't pursue you.

In fact.... It has worked all 5 times this summer in the daily, the bike AND the cobra. All warnings!

What usually works better for me is deny deny deny. Then when they get a little irritated, or dismissive of my inocence claims I ask "What? Do you think you're better than me?!?" and "Did your mommy not hold you enough as a child?"

Haven't gotten a ticket in 9 years with that kind of verbal reparte...

When I bought a beater fox a while ago there were bud light caps everywhere and a receipt for FIVE cans of mountain dew and a mars bar. It was hilarious. Came from down south.
