I had a good time overall; there were ALOT of cars! Way more than I was expecting to show up.

I really liked seeing all the RX-7's including the swapped 2nd gen, the 83 GSL with targa bands, the silver FD3S with the gold Advan wheels, Nick's white FD3S with the T78 setup (won best engine bay). I was suprised how many nissan 240's were there, as well as a large volume of Illinois cars showed up (like the red BMW335 w/ bodykit, Camoflauge BMW w/ M5 wheels).

Pork's VW was awesome! Always good to see the other VW's there including the Ghia and Prescott's Underdog tube-frame VW bug.

There were a handful of really great show cars there, and a handful of FAST cars. There were ALOT of nice cars. Of course you will have some crappy cars, but that happens. It wasn't a classic car show. I think the corner where I was parked by had the largest concentration of faster cars at the show altogether lol! The big ass Duramax runs mid-12's, the Vega is 11's, the blue Evo is mid-10's, the white RX-7 is low-11's, my ride was upper 9's, etc. Whatever though, it was a car show; I wasn't used to this type of event anymore. I am used to going to GLD and being around racers; not around ricers. Some of the questions I had to answer were astounding. Oh well, I was laughing when Dave came over and scared off some kids with some joking remarks that we were both being super sarcastic about my junk. It was funny as Hell to watch these baffled kids scurry away.

Overall, it was good weather and a fun time.

It was great to see a large number of BCM members including FarmTruck Chris, NismoDave, Flick and Michelle, Coop, Todd Z, HeatSeeker, etc.

On a side note, the class awards were a bit lame. I was expecting a bit more than that considering the show size and vehicle diversity.

As well, I was suprised that the Ale house wasn't open. The outdoors bathrooms supplied were absolutely horrible from 10am and only worse as the day went on. No soap, no paper towels in either bathroom. I wouldn't be shocked if there was no toilet paper.

It seems like the DJ only knew Dubstep from listening to Pandora as nearly every song is on my "skrillex" channel ROFL.

As for the DJ comment; I too was saddened to find that dubstep has become the backwards visor wearing d-bags music of choice. I like dubstep, but if Skrillex is the ONLY artist they can name...just walk away.

thanks to all you guys who came out and supported the great cause. We appreciate all the comments and feedback and we are taking it and any other suggestions and applying them to our show next year to make it bigger and better. I realize that the import / stance scene isn't the BCM focal point which is why we created our website in the first place, to give people with our common interests to post and find more information on their hobby.

Being as this is our first year in existence and only the second show me or my partner have ever put on, I think we did a decent job. We have already outgrown the large lot the the Ale House has. And as far as the business being closed on a day where they knew 500+ people would be there was just stupid on their part, and we didn't even find out about that until days before the event even though we had the date planned months in advance.

In regards to the trophy classes, we wanted to try some unique categories and try something where Asian, European, and Domestic cars could all compete in the same class. The first show we did in the spring we only had 4 categories, this time we had 10, and next time we will have even more but who goes to a show to win trophies anyways. I always viewed them as an added bonus.

If anyone else has any further comments, or things we could improve on, let us know either in this thread, on our facebook page, or on our website as well. Once again thanks to all of you who came out to support us and the JDRF. We will be posting totals of how much money we raised for the charity shortly.

You guys did a great job on getting A LOT of cars to come together for a show for 1 year of existence.

The trophies themselves were fun and unique, great ideas!

A bit more musical diversity would be recommended. As well, a MICROPHONE should have been used. You guys had a PA system, there should have been no need to yell out raffle numbers, as you can see from the outcome of a lot of unclaimed winners.

Get a good MC that can market your vendors on the microphone as well as bark instructions for the guests.

I got there early around 10am, and never was notified of a raffle or received a "peoples choice" card to fill out. Preparedness is key to maintaining a good event.

What was the total car count? It looked like 400-500 range plus all the others that parked on the other side of the building.

Food/drink was very limited, you could always contact a vendor to bring food onsite. Not everyone drinks only NOS energy drink for a several hour show. Garbage cans are a must as there was stuff left everywhere by the people who attended.

Having good clean working bathrooms are a MUST, otherwise plan on having portapotties and hand washing stations dropped off for the show.

Those are my main comments from doing years of events, parties, DJ'ING, and car shows.

seriously if you were haveing that many people which you had to have a clue in advance with registrations i would have expected tp in the bathroom and a few porto lets one guys one girls bathroom is kinda crazy, also the food and drink side sucked really. trophies and classes meh i'm with you its a added bonus, but for myself to even get into a category i had no clue what to even mark lol
again second show kudos to you great turn out,but its the little things that keep people coming back and new people wanting to go.
just one guys opinion. from the domestic standpoint i dont know that i would return with out a bit more to get the domestics to show up. which is a shame.
just one guys opinion is all
and yeah tim has a point i saw one garbage can on the whole lot,and heard no raffle tickets called at all. music needs a bit of diversity for sure.

I can't really ask food vendors to come to the show and stay on the restaurants good graces though. They were mad that NOS was handing out drinks as it was. We did drop the ball on the whole microphone thing. We half expected the DJ to assume we would need one but you know how assumptions go. We asked them about garbage cans but they didn't really want to accommodate too much either. Like I said about the restaurant being closed which also meant the main bathrooms were closed. The Ale House dropped the ball on that decision. We only had 100 pre-registered as well so to see that large of a turnout was awesome but overwhelming also. The music plays to the younger crowd which also is our main demographic.

We will begin planning our next show in a few weeks and we plan on finding a larger venue and contacting multiple food vendors also. We also may have a live band playing more casual music. We also want to keep the cost down to a bare minimum for entrance. The $5 entrance fee at this show went entirely to charity as we had very little overhead in this show. Our previous show at the Ale house was free for entrance. Keep the comments coming!

Maybe a BCM/STANCEWI/_______/____________ Show?

twicks69

The main thing you are going to run into then is having proper parking space for all the cars if this event becomes larger. As well, several month-in-advance marketing will help produce larger numbers.

As for the Ale House whining about NOS onsite; F-them. They weren't there, nor were their doors open. If they were serving food/drink, I would understand ONLY then.

As for the DJ, from experience of DJ'ing for several years, you ALWAYS have TWO microphones per MC with you and tested beforehand. It is common sense for anyone with real experience. Never assume anything. As for music; I am fine with techno the entire time; just not DUBSTEP (specifically Skrillex mix) the entire time. It is not hard to keep an atmosphere with musical diversity. I guess that is just the hassle nowadays with computer DJ's, though they have the largest potential for musical diversity with instant downloading capabilities.

Donation show or not, you should expect to have the cost for bathrooms onsite. Otherwise, the vendors that are at the show should be paying a $ amount to have their booth and that money pays for the location, services and associated fees.

Again, good luck with the future shows, it just takes time to learn the ropes and take constructive criticism to make the future shows better.

The current show is a niche group, we understand that; just widen the diversity a slight bit and there will be a large amount of additional cars showing up. I just felt like I was at ricer dropfest instead of a car show.

It sucks that my shop isn't closer to the Ale House. My shop is just down the hill on the inside corner of the industrial park right there. I could always see if they would let people park on the grass for some extra room.
