Have a auto shell with a title, transmissions, engine blocks..

Where can I go to get some cash for this stuff? Address/location? I've called a couple scrap facilities and they said I had to take the car to a junkyard?

I think Waukesha Scrap Iron will take it.

Waukesha Iron & Metal Inc
1351 East Main Street, Waukesha, WI

A friend took a junk Bonneville there the other day and they gave him $400 for it.

do you need a title to scrap out a car? If it's a shell?

Ricky Bobby

usually u need a title unless u know someone but ive also seen guys cut them into sections and then they wave the bs of having a title

You never need a title. If there isnt a title they may copy your DL.

you don't need a title if its just parts!

Miller Compressing takes them I'm sure.

Not needing a title sounds sketchy and a good way for theives to dump a car.

milwaukee has been starting to really "crack" down on the having a title things. Especially after they busted that chop shop.

guy at work bought a car only to find it has a lien on it. So he has been parting it out until it is pretty much a shell.

Someone stole my 1g DSM drag car, and a fellow forum member pm'd me that he found the car at Sturtevant. In WI you can steal any car with a tow truck/trailer and it is not a felony. Trust me, I know, as the guy that stole my car had to get his DL copied because he had no title. I called the police and filed a report, but they said that they would not follow up on it as it is a misdemeanor in WI and not worth their time. Guy took it right out of my garage!

How long ago did that happen?

I heard you don't need a title as long as the car is in 3 or more pieces. I recently chopped up a parts car and scrapped it... no title, no questions asked

I sold the 86 hatch I had after I pulled all the good sheet metal off it. Dude that bought it wanted the front strut towers, I never had a title, and sold it without so much as a reciept. He called asking for the keys because the junkyard wouldn't take it without a title if he didn't have the keys. Wtf? This was like a year ago.

You can scrap anything if you know what to do, where to go, and/or who to deal with. The City of Milwaukee changed a few aspects of the law(s) but they are very minimal and still do not prevent scrap crimes.....

Voodoo this was 4 years ago, and you were on widsm when it happened. there were several threads about it. Total BS. Anyhow you dont need a title to scrap a car, they may just have you sign your name and possibly copy the DL. Unless something changed in the 6 months since I have scrapped whole cars w/out a title.

should take it up here ( Wellers, in Wausau).
I have taken in a few cars and got decent $ = 96 bonneville got 468$ for it and then cut the cat off and got 125$ for the cat(large GM). They are paying 225$ a ton for car bodies now. Cat's range from 35-130$.

Took about 15 brake rotors and got about 30$. 4 car batteries / one small lawnmower battery and I got about 40-50 $.

I have a personal question, pardon me if I come off as rude. By posting here we can assume you have at least enough brains to putter around the interwebs, and your post above implicates you know how to use tools. It also gives us the impression you can read. How have you made it this far in life not knowing how to properly convey a United States Dollar amount?

Now days Miller needs the title due to the chop chops dumping the rest there. They often have MPD stop in for leads and to check on suspicious people trying to get rid of shells. Miller will call MPD when they have a person bring in a car/ shell without a title.

Really. .

How should I have conveyed the us dollar to make sense to you? Just stating it pays to cut the cat off, gather up a few things normally people would put out to the curb and take it in for a few extra bucks.. I know of Lil evo' and guessing he has a bunch of parts.

lol, really. I am sorry. Some people.....Like I said, grammer police. So I put the $ symbol in the wrong place and someone wonders how I made it this far in life? That is a good one. I will refrain from more commenting.

sorry to ruin this thread.

Jake, I don't think it's THAT bad (the getting through life part), some people are just nitpicky.

I have to admit that when I get irritated when I read some member's posts that do not have basic punctuation to end a sentence, it makes for a hard to understand what they are trying to communicate sometimes.

When you finally get what they are trying to say, your pissed that you wasted that much time trying to "get it", when a period or comma could have made life so much easier lol

funny how the $ symbol = the word dollar(s).....

but do you say "I have 'dollars' 85 in my pocket"? or is it "I have 85 'dollars' in my pocket"?

Is it the end of the world if someone types 85$? In stead of $85? Can you not comprehend the the meaning of the sentance with the $ symbol after the numerals?

please correct my spelling, as spell check on this computer does not let me know when I make a spelling mistake..... for that I now rely on members of BCM. Thank you.

Can I take a washer and dryer to the scrap yard as is or do I have to remove any parts?

I find the acceptance of stupidity and willingness to not present ones self as an intelligent human being stupid to be offensive. Present yourself as a respectable person and you will be respected, act like an idiot and I'll treat you like an idiot.

True, 88! But the "Kid" never TRIED to improve his. Only made excuses for it. My grammar sucks at times, and my spelling is not that great. I do use tools like spell check to corresct it. We could use grammar check!

How about a hot water heater? Will they take those as is?? I have a old hot water heater and washer/dryer that I'd rather take in and get a case of beer worth than put them at the end of the driveway...
I just don't want to haul it all there for them to say no...I usually go to that place on 13th north of layton..I think its called tri city..not sure tho only go once a year...

...someone types 85$? In stead of $85?

I always thought the postion of the $ had more to do with the order of "dollars" and "cents."

That is...
Five Dollars and Thirty Cents = 5$ 30¢ ~~~> $5 30¢ ~~~> $5.30
