My wife wants a Kindle for a late b-day present and i'm going back and forth with that compared to a Nook or even an Ipad.

I can get the 3G Kindle, but does even have internet access or is that only for Wikipedia and encyclopedias? If it doesn't, i might just be better off getting an Ipad.

Any thoughts from current owners of all 3 options?

They do have internet. You might be better off getting a nook or a kindle and hacking it with Android OS. You can still use it as a e-reader but you also have the ability to install Android Apps. I am looking into this since an e-reader is half the cost of an iPad or Tablet.

I got Amanda a Kindle a few years ago, she loves the thing. I know nothing about the Nook or Ipad. You can use the Kindle in direct sunlight, not sure if you can do that with a Ipad........

My wife has a Nook Color. She really likes it, I haven't played with it too much.
