super cool!

Those prototype cars are ridiculous. 385hp, awd, beretta.. Would be really funny to catch a light with something "quick" and lay the smack down in some old 80s stock looking Beretta.

I remember reading about that car in that magazine along with about a dozen others including a Camaro, and an old Caddy.

Really cool. Falls in line with the V8 powered Beretta as well as the Beretta Convertible. Both of them would of made really cool cars, however the the light weight body with the V8 made it faster than the Corvette at the time, and they couldnt pass crash standards for the vert.

That is actually really fuckin' cool! Why the no title? I wonder what the reserve is and I see it hasn't been relisted, maybe later? That thing has to go like a bat outta hell.

Autoweek did a story about 4 years ago on GM's "vault" cars. They have hundreds of 1 off prototype cars stored all around the city in vaults and storage units. Awesome article.

Never was a big fan of the Beretta bodystyle but pretty cool. If I won the lottery I'd snag a bunch of the GM concept cars even though you can't legally drive them on the street.

Concept car.

Then why do they even issue a vin # for it? Or is it that they just grab a car off the line and go to town on it?

key word legally. lol Just buy another 87 beretta and register that. Haven't seen too many cops checking VINs lately.

Go to Woodward, they bring a lot of these cars out for the Dream Cruise, one of the biggest reasons to go.

It's got really good internals. That's things gotta be fast. For a Beretta.

Wonder if you could title/register it with hobbyist plates?

Many road based concept/pre-production cars have VIN's, though I'm pretty sure its blacklisted from being registered. You can get registration for them if your willing to go through allot of hassle in terms of proving to the government that its a historically significant vehicle, called a "show and display" registry. Then they limit you to 2,500 miles a year or so, so the amount of time and money you'd spend to legally street a concept Beretta would hardly be worth it. Here's the most recent list if your interested.

Here's the non-conforming vehicles that are still eligible.
