Well down here in New Orleans I have the good fortune
to live in an area that is prone to flooding. Well Sunday
night, Monday morning we were deluged with 7" of rain.
I had the head of the Miata so I couldn't move it. All I
could do is watch the water rise almost up to the taillights.
Pretty sure it was up to the dash at one point.

Not sure what to do with the car. It dried out pretty quick
but I would bet the computer got wet. All the electrical
systems work. I can't test the engine because the head is
off.

I have had some terrible luck this summer.

Should I replace the computer and put the new head
on and just run it? Or start selling parts I won't need
if I do a LS swap? The V8 swap was the eventual plan
for the car when I bought it. The engine didn't get any
water in it so that is good.

I did make the local news though. About 1/2 way through
is my interview.

First thing first remove the carpet asap before it mildews and rots the floor..

Pull the computer and dry it out. Let it sit for a few days in a closed ziploc bag with some uncooked rice to absorb any moisture.
Ditto on the carpet removal. As well you'll be needing the complete change of all fluids and a thorough brake bleed.

Next look for a place to live that doesn't flood.:thumbsup

Judging by that last post I think you may have water in your head.
