Couple of questions. Looking for a comfortable seat for my ancient Giant MTB and also some tire recommendations. I do 80% street riding, right now I have knobby tires and was looking for something a little better. Here is what I have now, they are 26"x1.95". Any suggestions?

I use those tires and they work prettty good on all surfaces. But I also have a set of some road tires on spare rims for when I go longer distances on roads. I want to say they are kenda brand as well.

Dan,

A good all around tire that has a smooth feel on the road but also has great grip in dirt and the like is the Kenda Small block 8 http://www.kendausa.com/en/home/bicycle/mountain/small-block-eight.aspx

Right now since I am mostly street but some off road I am using Bontrager XR1 Team Issue tires. Great grip! I was using Continental Town and Country before that.

Just get a seat that's hard and small, it will hurt for a week and then be fine. Big soft cushy seats will have you hating life after a mile or two. I miht have a seat you can have, might need the seat rails straightened out though

I have to agree with Eric, when I got my bike I thought the seat sucked. After a week of riding I didn't think it was that bad. Now after about 200 miles I don't really have any complaints about it.

I'm looking for a seat, Ive had the bike for about 17 years (lol) and I think the "gel" seat thats it has served me well, but it's tired. Just looking to see what is out there nowadays, I'm sure seat "technology" has gotten a little better since...

Thanks for the tire recommendations!
