I have a 2010 silverado and the Chrome sections on the rear bumper have rust on them already. Truck has 6k miles. I can get rid of it temporary with Chrome cleaner/polish but it keeps coming back.. what are my chances of getting a new bumper from the dealer? or is there something else I can use to get rid of it permanently?

Did you by the truck new?
My truck was rear ended a couple years ago and the body shop replaced it with an aftermarket one that started rust freckling in less than 6 months. I got them to replace it with a new oem ford one.

That's a pretty cynical view of modern vehicles...:goof

Warranty, they will probally try and give you some bs but it should be covered under warranty. The only bad thing is if and when they do replace it how long till the replacement starts doing the same thing?

It should be a warranty claim. They dont use actaul chrome like years ago on those bumpers. Its a mix of crap with a thin layer of chrome mixed. Chevy knows of the problem

A guy I work with has the same thing with the front bumper on his Silverado. He has complained to Holz, where he bought it new, and they just showed him how to polish it out. I think they even gave him some polish. He is not happy.
