Wanted to wire in a reciever and 4 speakers into a car that has none.

The reciever I planned to use has a 10 amp fuse in the back side, so if I use an inline fuse holder with a 10 amp fuse I should be fine, correct? I plan on running 2 6x9s and 2 6.5" speakers off the deck, no amp. I plan on wiring direct though through a relay so I can jump a wire from the ignition switch so it is OFF when I remove the key ( as I would forget ).

I see a relay being unnecessary.

Put a "delay relay" in for that "NEW" feel. You can have a few seconds after removing the key before the radio dies off.

I see a relay being unnecessary.

Most toggle switches are rated for 10 amps, kinda pushing it without a relay isn't it?

No relay should be necessary, their should be a constant power that will run the fused line but then their should be another wire that triggers it to turn on when it sees voltage (which could be wired to an ignition controlled fuse, etc...)

Unless I misunderstood your post

Please rethink running no amp. It won't sound terrible or anything, but head unit power only just isn't enough IMO. A lower power 4 channel amp is pretty cheap, and will really wake things up!
