Wanted to say thanks to Tom (Badls1) for getting my car all fixed up! I had a long list of things that needed to be done. A few of the issues were quite large too and he got it all done in just a couple days and even worked on it on Father's day!!!
Toward the middle of last summer I bought a built transmission due to the stock one in my car starting to go to shit. Tom put it in an tuned it but quickly found there was an issue with it when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. In 3rd or D it would bounce the rev limiter hard and if you left in in OD it would surge pretty bad before shifting. Well after getting the run around from the builder about it being a tune issue and Tom telling him it wasn't the tune it was the trans, and my work schedule being so busy we didn't get it figured out and the snow was here so it sat all winter. This spring I talked to the builder again and they were still claiming it was tuning but did agree to look at it but I would have to send it back at my expense. After weighing out the cost to have it removed and sending it to them and talking with Tom he told me what he thought the issue was and gave me a price on him dropping the trans repairing it and plus all the other shit. I went with Tom and he did a great job and to say he did for a reasonable price is an under statment. Tom had the trans out, found the issue, which was way to much clearance in the 3-4 clutch packs and they had some burning already from it. He replaced them with some better clutches and I had him also upgrade the sunshell being my "built" one didn't have one which I did know when I bought it. My car doesn't really make much power so I didn't think I needed one to hold 700 whp. He had all the trans work done and back into the car and testing it with in a day. Plus did the other crap that I needed done!
The trans shift perfectly now! Tom did a great job and I can't give him enough credit for making sure I was happy and all the screwing around he did sending me screen shots of the tune to prove to the builder it wasn't a tune issue like they kept trying to say it was. Plus the emails he sent them about the issues.
Thanks Tom!!
The trans builder by the way was Performabuilt which is a big name builder for 4l60e transmissions.
