With changing the filter every month, what would cause the ac to run it's cycle, then kick back on after about 15/20 minutes. Temp is set at 72

T-stat placed near a supply and tricking it ....
Over sized A/C...
Angry Hot Wife... Hot as in Temperature ....
Shitty A/C system....

Is there anything to look at for a window AC unit to make sure it runs perfect?

i'm going with the last option as it is over 16 years old if that is good reason. kept it at the same temp last year and didn't seem to act the same way

Make sure the coil on the outside is clean, that's all...

Had ac on got to temp we have it set at but ac won't shut off. Any ideas?? Ty.

lol no I was being "that customer." You would be surprised how many people don't realize they need to change filters.

Any cheaper place to buy 25x16x3 filters? Seems like they crap out in a few weeks. Only place I find them near me is Menards on 27th for $34.99

Those should be changed every 6 months and that's even in a Nasty house !!!

By no means am I saying your home is dirty but a few weeks tell me either you have high traffic in the home or your ducts are FULL of dust, YIKES !!!

I know a guy that does excellent duct cleaning the " RIGHT " way :) PM me

Bayview homes are notorious for this, built strong but ZERO insulation. There are times some A/C systems my work put in and they can only cool down to 72-74 depending how hot it is outside, the duct work can't take anymore BTU's it comes down to the homes fault.....
