Came into my garage last night as my hot side of my turbo was Orange :fire

Its raw metal and with all this humidity it turned rust color, it wipes off but I'd like to coat it.

Anyone have Luck with anything High Temp out of the can ?

there are a couple different types, one is to 500* the other is 1200*, but thats only a max temp...not what it can handle constantly. I have seen people use the high temp grill paint as well. Never directly on a hot side tho.

I have little faith in high temp paint. Josepys brembo calipers looked like they had an STD after 1 track day.

No way is any paint going to hold up on the hot side. Hell it doesn't even last on headers and those don't get half as hot. Some type of coating like jet hot may last for a while but i wouldn't expect it to.

Ceramic coating is probably the only thing that even stands a chance of working.

Yea no way. Get them ceramic coated by a good company if you want a shot at it holding up.

Otherwise I have had great luck with turbo blankets.

If you push the car at a track day the paint is going to discolor and look like shit. No paint or powdercoat is going to like that either.

Raw cast iron parts got trashed with the humidity this weekend. My master cylinder did the same thing. Get it clean and hope for less humidity the rest of the summer

Dave you are right..... I'll probably just deal with it as I have never seen one coated that held up... EVER !!!
