Here is the short story. My friend and I decided to tackle replacing the power steering hoses on my truck. Long story short we have everything connected except we are having a hard time getting the low pressure line to seat correctly in the gear box. When ever the truck gets started is starts spraying everywhere.

Is there a trick to getting this thing seated correctly. Right now I do not have too much confidence in my friend and would like to know if someone can walk me thou this or can possibly volunteer their services with helping me.

The truck is a 2007 GMC Sierra extended cab.

Right now my truck is at a friends house and I am with out transportation other than my bike, and I need this fixed tomorrow.

There wasn't a o-right on the low pressure hose on either the old on or new one. The High pressure hose has one thou.

So its a flared end like a brake line ? Is there a split in the new line flare.

So it s a quick disconnect fitting then. There should be a an oring inside the fitting then.

its kind of like this and the part that is being the pain on staying in would be the one on the left side of the picture.

If its quick disconnect like that, check the little plastic retainer on the female side. If it isn't tight or if its broken, it won't retain the hose all the way, and would leak under pressure.

I didnt see a plastic fitting when I took it out or with the new hose.

The hoses were missing the o-rings. I didnt see any when we took the old hoses out and the parts guy at the dealer did not mention that the hoses didnt come with them. So yeah I would of gotten it all installed if I would of know about the o-rings. Lesson learned.
