Arise Thunderbird, it is your time to take flight once again!

After buying my Thunderbird back from a local who basically trashed the car and let it sit, the time has come to start working on the Thunderbird and bring her back to life. As you can see there is minor body damage to the fender and headlight panel, nothing I can’t handle with parts from the salvage yard. I’m keeping the stock NPI block for now, it’s only got 91K+ miles on the clock. There’s no need for a PI motor swap when I have a perfectly good motor to blow up.

As for the upgrades, I have just purchased a SVO blower kit from a member on TCCoA.com so the Thunderbird is going to be supercharged once again. The SC badges have meaning. The exhaust is going to be redone with 2 ½ pipe, high flow cats, magnaflow duel muffler and cut in tips at the rear. Interior is getting new seats, A-pillar gauges and recovering the door panels, arm rest and speaker covers with a black vinyl.

Other than that, just trying to restore the look and finish from what she used to look like before the carnage.

Thanks,

Josh

It's fun. If the weather would cooperate I could enjoy it!

Tell me more about that supercharger!

Started off as a Roush unit and then SVO / Ford Racing took over afterwards. They are a non-intercooled Eaton M112 roots style supercharger for the 96-98 NPI Mustang GT's. The best I could do with my NPI block and meth injection is close to 300-325 rwhp.

Yea there's a big thread on the Thunderbird forums. Very cool that they are throwing in a big block, but I would have liked to see a 4.6 blown 4V.

Nothing major today, just got the fender and header panel off. Going to try this Spectre filter and heat shield. Looks cool. I also had a few parts that I saved after I sold it.

Right now I'm working on getting the kit on and then having it dyno tuned with one of the best SVO tunes by Robs tire and auto (http://www.robstireandauto.com/) (RobertP). Then installing the new exhaust. After that I'll move on to the exterior body (painting the fender), repairing minor paint scratches and then wash+wax. Lastly the interior with gauges, new leather on the SC seats and covering a few things. Things are going to start moving now!

I went to the salvage yard and picked up a header panel, headlights and fender.

Last week I noticed that there was a small leak coming from the waterpump, time for a 99+ unit.

300-325 something in that range.
