Is there a better battery than this?

My son got this RC truck for his birthday, just a cheapy Chingling Dodge from Target. Is there a better, more powerful (faster) battery for this thing that I could get him?

I would talk to tony at hobbytown I don't think there is, doubt if the esc can handle more juice

Ive been reading that the pack is just filled with weak (600mAh) AA batteries, that I can pop it open and replace with better batteries?

Pop it open and take a look. If that's the case then you should be able to no problem. You may need a better charger tho?
