Anyone work for a Subie Dealer?

Someone on here, 1320PNY just bought a wrx if memory serves me right. He posted up on here. Maybe PM him and ask where he got it and for about how much, etc... Would be a good starting point.

I got mine at Wilde after a long hassle of bullshit and honestly can't recommend them. Sommer's has always been better. Gentile wouldn't deal all that much since they only had a small alotment of them.

If it's a WRX not an STI then Gentile in Racine all the way. Work with Kim Becker and only her down there. Call her and set up a time to go meet with her and work out the deal. She was the ONLY one that would budge on the price of my sonic yellow '03. Great salesperson and great dealership. They still have old skool values where they take care if the customer no matter what. It's refreshing. Skip Wilde like Chris said. Sommers is a good dealer too that cares about Subarus and the aftermarket so that's an option tho I have never bought a car from them...tried on two occasions and it just didn't work out. Yeah I talked to the wrong person down at Gentile. I was looking for a plain ole WRX and they still wouldn't match the online prices of other places.

Acura of Brookfield has a silver '08-10 hatch STI if he's willing to go used, haha.

^ not true! It's all about dealing with the right dealership and sales person. I have sent probably 30 people to Kim Becker at Gentile and most people usually end up with a car. She is that good and won't play games. I have bought 7 cars through her, my dad has probably bought 12-15. Gentile is a smaller dealer but will do locates to find the vehicle you want. My wagon came from Aurora through Gentile. I would agree Illinois will have more inventory but why go down there and buy it when you can shoot down to Racine, get a better price and have it brought up here?

If he is looking for used I would travel south as well, been watching prices (dreaming) for a year now and local dealers are WAY over IL asking prices. "New to you" in wauk always has a few 02-07 models on hand reasonably priced.

A lot of that is because in Illinois, they dont have to do safety inspections, keep records of vehicles for 10 years, title checks, title reporting, title disclosures, ect. Ever heard of the term "title washing"? Great way to hide a messed up car from a carfax report.

I bought my Subie from Sommer's and I could sit here and praise them all day, but i'll just say that you should give them a shot.

As stated it is more the salesperson that makes or breaks the deal for me. I got my '11 WRX from Jackie at Wilde. No BS, just a great price up front. Also, George at Sommer's is good, but Wilde has my service team from Don Jacobs and they service all my Subarus. I did have issues with Sommer's service, and will not go back there for service in the future.

I went to Gentile to buy an STi and they wouldn't move on the price, I also was going to buy a Honda pilot at the same time, they still would move on the price, drove to Ill and got the thing for 28,995 with a MSRP of 34,8?? Got the Pilot at the place on highway 100 for 5,000 less then MSRP, Gentile wouldn't move on this one either and this all happened in 05' when things were going great for most everyone.

Did you read what I wrote? If buying a WRX go through Gentile. They aren't going to drop $4k off msrp on an STi because they just don't inventory those there. They had the first 05 on their lot for close to a year! Nobody wants STis in Racine. If it was a WRX that's a different car so different ballgame. And again...if you worked with some other sales person at Gentile then you aren't going to get the best price, simple as that. My Tacoma I bought through Kim at gentile and I got the truck for $3k less than any other dealer in greater milwaukee and the truck I bought has more options lol

New to You Auto in Waukesha always has loads of WRX's and STI's. They have/had (not sure if its still there) an 04 black sti for 13,500 that was MINT. Also had an 02' white wrx for $7900! It was actually really nice. Obviously dealers are more expensive than private sales but New to You really does have good prices compared to the big guys. I live close and see at least 4 there at a time. Once one goes a new one arrives.
