Really don't want to buy one for it to sit around to use once or twice a year so thought I would see if I can borrow or rent one from a BCMer. Anyone? I have 350 feet of curb to edge, so electric won't do.

If you have a string trimmer/weed wacker, you can just turn it sideways and go to town. It works great!
Safety glasses are a must with this method :shades

I thought about that and tried it without much luck, wonder if I used the steel spinner blade that my weed wacker came with that might work better?

I just use my weed wacker also. Works awesome once you get the "feel" for it. Cuz you can jack the edge of the lawn up if you aren't careful :rolf Awesome to think its time to get the lawn cut. Mine is long and ready for the first cut of the season

2 extention cords would do your corner lot, have a FREE elec edger you can have that works fine.

The grass trimmer method does work pretty well but I don't think it looks as nice as an edger.

I agree w Chris, bought a used Echo edger from clist for 50 bucks and it rips, got my curb done and both sides of driveway in 15 minutes and it looks awesome.
